Florence (1915-1967) was our grandfather’s sister, and Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, this Belgian inspired Wheat ale is crafted from American malted barley, Organic Vermont wheat, European and American hops, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Soft, cloudy, and fresh, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Florence. 5% ALC/VOL 12º P Ingredients: Pale Malt; Vermont Organic Wheat; American and European Hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

Bottle, from brewery. Good aroma, fruity, tart, lemon tad hazed yellow golden color, ok head and lace. Sour flavor, light body, smooth thin creamy mouthfeel, tart dry sweet finish. That nice. I like the flavor best, nice lemon wheat mix, ldelixiius.

750mL bottle, shared with Phillip at MSS. Pours straw yellow with a white head. Aroma is wheat, citrus, HFS funk. Flavor is lemon, wheat... This has the signature HFS softness and funk. Finishes dry. Really nice.

Bottle, 75cl. An unclear pale golden to yellow beer topped by a small white head that stays. It’s very fruity on the nose, with lemon juice, grapefruit, tropical notes and a hint of yeast. It’s lightly acidic on the palate, pleasantly carbonated, dry and medium to full bodied. Lemon juice, some pine cones, a little bitterness and a touch of tropical fruits in the flavor. Grapefruit and pepper hints too. Lasting finish. A tad boring in a way, but very refreshing and quenching. 150704

Aroma of slight hefe clove, evened out peppery saison yeast with fantome like lemony pineapple. This beer is super refreshing and perfect tartness, taste is very very balanced with nice earthy, grassy and slightly citrusy hops bundled with a very tropical and lemony saison with a nice tartness.

Bottle dated 2015 04 30. This was poured into a tulip, a nonic and a weizen. I didn’t knowwhat it was until now. Review will be from the tulip since this is a saison. The appearance had a hazy burnt yellow color with a slim one finger’s worth of foamy white head that dissipated within less than thirty seconds. Lacing is stringy and messy. The smell had a sweet to sour lemon, light sour wheat (grainy but sweet and good). Lemon rind with light orange strolls in to amplify a nice balance. The taste is sweet to sour to having a refined bitter underneath. A dry sweet lemon wheat aftertaste leads into a sticky sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable feel about it. Carbonation runs smooth and lets up to allow the wheat base to smooth things out. Overall, as a saison, it works. With the wheat base to amplify the specifics and intrigue saison lovers further, well that helps to make a nice Summer session.

750ml bottle pours a golden color with a lot of frothy head. Slight sourness that overpowers the rest of the beer a little.
