Florence (1915-1967) was our grandfatherís sister, and Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, this Belgian inspired Wheat ale is crafted from American malted barley, Organic Vermont wheat, European and American hops, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Soft, cloudy, and fresh, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Florence. 5% ALC/VOL 12ļ P Ingredients: Pale Malt; Vermont Organic Wheat; American and European Hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2014 Obtained in a trade. Thx! 750 ml. bottle split by 4 @ ďThe Tasting formerly known as Mons RBBAG I (2014)Ē. Bottled on 07/2014. Hazy citrus with no head. Nose is citrus, lightly tart, brett, sour bacteria, very HF, unique mix. but not best possible one. Taste is straightforward, lightly sour, tart citrus, tad lactic sorbet, wheat, lemon drops, brett, strong wheat presence,Ö Low carbonation & very easy to drink. Quite lovely but overrated all the same as usual.

750ml bottle. Hazy golden with a one-finger white head. Funky Belgian wheat aroma, slight citrus. The flavor is nice and wheaty with lemon and funk. Mildly tart. Fairly full carbonation with medium body. Good beer, as expected!

This poured a hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma was of light lemon acid, wheat, earth, and sand. Flavor was lightly spicy, Belgian whit character, some wet rocks and light ability. Pretty solid.

Side by side tasting of bottled Anna, Florence & Arthur at BBFí14. Props to Mike Morse. Thank you! ANNA: plays on the light floral notes, but especially on the spicy and yeast compared to the other two. 4.1/5 FLORENCE: more zesty lemon with a drier body and a great dry finish, a real thirst quencher. 3.8/5 ARTHUR: fruitiest of the 3, with nice balanced pineapple notes and a tad of the yeasty saison chareter. 4.1/5

UPDATED: JUL 9, 2015 750 ml bottle received as an extra from a killer trader. Thanks buddy! Pours very light yellow, almost perfectly clear, with a huge fluffy white head on top. Aroma of lemons, grass, barnyard funk, yeast esters, strong hop presence, spice, some definite tartness. Flavor is tart fruits, lemons, grapefruit, grass, some hop bitterness, somewhat acidic, major funk, dry, with a crisp finish. Light bodied, prickly carbonation, and tart dry finish. Interesting brew--only my 2nd from HF--and not what I expected. The tartness note here is pretty unique and very nice. Worth a try, though I was hoping for a little more sweetness and spice from this one. But thatís just my personal taste, and thereís nothing I can find thatís wrong with this. Crisp and super clean brew. Nicely done. Trying for the second time now, and really digging this one. Like it better than any of the other HF saisons I have had. Good stuff with a bit more sweetness than the likes of Anna/Arthur/Dorothy.

Bottle, courtesy of a kind soul... shared in a location remote of my dining room.
Pours a sunny yellow with a medium sized head and some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is floral and lemony. Itís got what I would best describe as a rich, or multi layered funk with some hay & some general farm animal character.

The flavor is dry but nicely bright with a decent fruitiness throughout. ITís earthy and tart with some lemon and some great light peppery and floral notes. The bitterness is fairly low but well employed. This is about as balanced as funky saison gets.

Maybe Iím a sucker for these beers? I donít know, seems like this is pretty great though.
