COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Florence (1915-1967) was our grandfather’s sister, and Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, this Belgian inspired Wheat ale is crafted from American malted barley, Organic Vermont wheat, European and American hops, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Soft, cloudy, and fresh, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Florence. 5% ALC/VOL 12º P Ingredients: Pale Malt; Vermont Organic Wheat; American and European Hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

Draft at RR. Pours clear pale yellow with some head that fades fast. Aroma is wheat, oats and pears. First sip is similar with a nice dry vinous finish.

UPDATED: SEP 26, 2015 Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours hazy golden - amber with a decent white head. The nose is fresh, funky, brioche, bread, stewed orange, peach and tinned nectarines. The taste is crisp, tart, bitter, sherbet, good mouth - pucker, bright acidity, some funk and bread with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Fresh and funky on the nose. Taste is a touch acidic, but yet enjoyable.

bottle shared by a friend. poured a hazy pale yellow to light golden colour with a nice small white head on top. a strong citrus aroma hits the nose, wheats, grains, and a subtle fruit notice of peach, grass hops and crisp malts, apricots, graham crackers, leading into a smooth slight tart refreshing finish. from the regular saisons that i’ve had from hill farmstead this has to be the best one. incredible refreshing mouthfeel. loved it

750 ml. bottle shared with Gabe. Pours a thin, poorly retained, white head, over a hazy gold (SRM 3) body........nose is light sour, hints of pear, apple, no hops.....taste is light floral honey notes, mild tart sourness, light colored fruits (pear, apple), hints of lemon type citrus, minimal hops.......mouth feel, light of medium body, no alcohol, light carbonation. This has a very gentle and almost mild sourness. The spice notes are quite hidden. The fruit notes are a pleasant and interesting change from many in the broader style. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7

Location: 750 ml bottle from the brewery, 8/12/15

Aroma: The aroma is barnyard yeast, peppery spice, some fruity notes (apple, pear), and wheat
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color with a small head that dissipates quickly leaving mild lacing
Flavor: This is elegantly balanced with funk, yeast, spice, and light sweetness all in there
Palate: The body is light-medium, very clean, soft, with a dry, funky close on the mouth
Overall Impression: Happy 1st Sunday of football! Glad to be back watching with the great Scott Hanson. Needed something special to celebrate, and thought this HF offering would do the trick. Another excellent offering. This one is both subtle and elegant, with so much interesting flavor developed in what seems like such a simple beer.

750ml bottle from the brewery. Aroma : lots of wheat with a subtle touch of wilderness, lemon and other citrus, apples and also quite peppery. App: clear pale, medium creamy white head with little retention leaving some lacing as always... Taste and palate: light body, moderate carbonation but a bit tingling, light short dry bitter and fruity finish. Overall: great! Only 5% and not watery at all, which is what I feared a bit. What a great mouthfeel. Really well balanced. Really like that the wheat is that much present in this beer which makes it stand out. Quite good!

Sample at the Northeastern Brewery (VT) Tasting on 08/16/2015. Hazy pale yellow color with a medium thin white head that dissipates steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Fruit, yeast and malt in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of herbal wheat, lemon, hops and grainy malt. The finish is fruity with a citrus and yeast aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Poured a hazy deep golden banana with an active head in a snifter. Great aroma of citrus, light fruits, light funk, straw and wheat. The taste was very fruity, some mild spices, yeasty funk, wheat, cereal grains. Higher carb, light body. Crisp finish. Very good.
