COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Florence (1915-1967) was our grandfather’s sister, and Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, this Belgian inspired Wheat ale is crafted from American malted barley, Organic Vermont wheat, European and American hops, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Soft, cloudy, and fresh, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Florence. 5% ALC/VOL 12º P Ingredients: Pale Malt; Vermont Organic Wheat; American and European Hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

Growler pour from Mike at the Ephraim event. Pour is a clearish blonde. Zero lacing and very bare head. Carbonation is very mellow. Aromas of belgian spicy yeast, bannanas, clove, apples, honey, pumpkin guts. Taste is herbal crisp, with coriander, orange peel, cedar, pumking, peppery lemon. Finishes crisp and delicious with a halloween aftertaste. Great refreshing witbier/saison hybrid from Hill Farmstead. They haven’t let me down yet.

Clear gold pour, white head. Crisp aroma, guava, saison yeast, wheat, soft spice notes. Flavor is a wonderful mix of saison notes and wheat. Lightly herbaceous hops, orange peel, wow. Just wow.

effervescent lemon, puffy large-bubbled white head, spidery lacing. Incredibly delicate nose is slightly spicy, wit-est aspect, grainy, doughy, and monstrously bright. Lemony flavor mule kicks with husky wheat, esters indistinguishably low, hazy dough end. Carbonation kicks ass. Stunning.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2014 Obtained in a trade. Thx! 750 ml. bottle split by 4 @ “The Tasting formerly known as Mons RBBAG I (2014)”. Bottled on 07/2014. Hazy citrus with no head. Nose is citrus, lightly tart, brett, sour bacteria, very HF, unique mix. but not best possible one. Taste is straightforward, lightly sour, tart citrus, tad lactic sorbet, wheat, lemon drops, brett, strong wheat presence,… Low carbonation & very easy to drink. Quite lovely but overrated all the same as usual.

Bottle: The aroma consists of big heavy citrus, orange peel, lemon, florals, and a touch of musty tart apple. It pours a cloudy dull orangish-yellow with a one finger white head that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. The flavor starts with a moderate-heavy tangy oranges. The finish has moderate tart lemon, must, and light florals. It’s light-medium with soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall, another super tasty Saison from Hill Farmstead.

Growler bought today from hf. Beautiful beer. Like a weinstephaner hefeweizen and an Arthur blended together. Perfectly hopped

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2012 On tap at skinny pancake. $5.46 for a 40cl HFS glass. Poured a gorgeous cloudy straw appearance. Big carbonation. Bright yellow appearance. This is gorgeous. Huge wheat and lemon scent. Bready Belgian yeast. Taste is so nicely balanced. Darnit Shaun. Stop being so awesome! Big dry fresh wheat taste. Insanely dry finish. Lemon grass and hay. Funky farmhouse finish with fleeting light hops. Light body. Very excellent finish.

Draft @ Skinny Pancake, Montpelier. Served in a HFS chalice. Very lightly hazy yellow. High carbonation, producing bubbly head. Fantastic nose has my taste buds salivating. The nose and taste mimic each other. Yeast, barnyard, orange zest, maybe coriander spice?? Light and refreshing mouthfeel. Light /soft texture. Big citrus notes make it perfect for a warm day. For me it’s Wit beer meets saison. Two styles I love and wrapped up into one great farmhouse style brew. If I didn’t have bills, I would quit my job, and beg the brew master to let me be his apprentice! One day, I strive to brew a Belgian wheat beer that tastes this good and has no imperfections. I have sampled many examples of this style from all over the world, this brew hangs near the top of the style. If I could get this in Southern NH, I would drink this all summer long. Artfully crafted.

Thanks to jwale73 for this bottle!! Pours super hazy pale yellow with a white crown and lumpy lacing. Smell is pepper, spice, lemon. Taste starts of peppery then it is citric flowing into sourness from the brett and it all ends very dry and citric. Light in body and smooth...slightly slippery. A splendid beer - my friend said that it reminded him of a berliner weise...I think there is truth to that.

750ml bottle pours hazy pale straw yellow with 2 fingers of head. Nose is bright earthy light yeasty spice, straw, lemon peel. Taste is bright crisp rustic pale grains, wheat, lemon slice, white grape, subtle yeasty spice, soft malts. Finish is dry, tart crisp lemon, citrus, subtle grains, yeast. Palate is so soft. One of the best tart saisons on the planet. Delicious!
