750mL flip-top growler big thanks to yourefragile! Dark sepia pour, clearish. Thick mocha head erupts. Sheen, rocky retention. Big swathes of lace. Nose is soft, peaty, some spicy melon like chili powder rubbed pomelo (Thai snack),chocolate milkshake. Taste is light bodied like a 5% oatmeal stout, bitter, roasty, coffee heavy, some light soil and earthiness. Palate is lighter, bitter, easy to drink than expected. As it warms, it really gains some silkiness, mild alcohol warming, fudge, ganache. Palate really improves density at warm temperatures. Really nice improvement. Goes from a 3.7 to a 3.9 for me. Delicious but delicate, could easily be under appreciated if you don’t let it warm up and see how it evolves. I really liked it, especially how it is sessionable at 6.5%. Well done.

Pours a dark brown with a thick tan head. The aroma is pungent citrus, with notes of grapefruit followed by chocolate. The flavor is moderately bitter

On tap at Parker pie. Opaque brown black pour with super lacy tan head. Aroma is super hoppy, very dank, grassy hop, light roast. Taste is bitter, lots of juicy fresh hop flavor, oatmeal malty notes, very hop heavy (very tasty). Palate is med bodied and creamy, light carbonation. Quite good.

On tap at both Hill Farmstead and Parker Pie the same day. Dark brown (almost black) with a medium creamy beige head and good lacing. Aroma is grassy hops and roasted malts forward, but there’s also cocoa notes and oniony notes. Taste is very slightly sweet and features the same flavors as aroma along with a medium bitterness. Body is medium. Carbonation is medium. Mouthfeel is silky smooth and also somewhat creamy. Grassy and roasty finish. Rather dry. Very easy drinking, but also really flavorful Black IPA. A winner.

Growler shared by Minderbinder, thanks man! It pours a dark brown with a small beige head on top that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of soap, pine and resin. Taste is moderately bitter and lightly roasty with some nice piny flavors. Feels quite fresh, almost like if there was menthol in there. Both body and carbonation were moderate. Nice and really well balanced! One of my best black IPAs so far I’m sure!

On Tap at the Blind Tiger. Pours a deep cloudy brown with a medium sized tan head. Aroma consists of a nice dose of earthy style hops coupled with a caramel malt undertone. Taste is hops forward with a nice balance of the same caramel malt from the nose, finishes long and dry with the rye really coming to is own in the end. Easy to put down, has a medium body and is silky smooth in the mouth. Excellent beer, the first I have had from them, kudos!
