A really great beer, the coffee harmonizes well with the bourbon character and yet creates something completely different from a KBS or BCBS, has a weirdly "light" character by comparison, I don’t even know. Thanks Colin.

Black pour. Little to no head, unless forced. No lacing. Big boozy note right up front. Chocolate nose. Fudge. Molasses. Fudge mouth. Big boozy note follows in the mouth as well. Slight note of coffee. A little one dimensional.

Batch 2 (500 ml) bottle to snifter. Looks good; a nearly opaque very dark cola with fizzy mocha head that steadily dissipates into virtually no lacing. Smells of a nice balance of dark malt, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, and oak. Tastes like it smells, but sweeter, with a mildly bitter full-bodied mouthfeel that’s silky and smooth for the abv. Tasty.

Silky black pour... Aroma of coffee, bourbon, smoke, dark chocolate... Sweet, but not cloying, heat is perfectly mellow... Great coffee, bourbon, chocolate and vanilla notes... Amazingly well done ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Batch 2. This was only purchased a week ago, and it might be a little too young still. There’s a ton of beautiful bourbon flavor, but there’s so much alcohol heat and blunt oak notes that it is a bit of an all-out assault on the tastebuds. Still, it’s so tasty and well made that I didn’t mind getting assaulted by this one!

500 ml bottle shared with friends at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki, from trade with Frank. Black color with beige brown head. Malty aroma, some coffee, bourbon, alcohol, dark dried fruits, vanilla and coconut, wood, chocolate and cocooa. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Full silky oily to creamy body with soft carbonation.

sepia, large bubbled tan head, thanks gravity! Drops to oily wisps. Heavy booze-raisin balance draws immediate Expedition comparisons. Also light oatmeal, plenty of sugar with molasses, very dark and fruity. Sweetness lower in flavor, front is more oatmeal-raisin, the booze-raisin growing mid in thin, oily profile, heavy roast bitterness in the end drawing more Expedition comparison but still so inky that the sugar comes off as light anise alongside molasses. Perhaps too old at this point?

Thanks to tferrilo for this one; one of many personal white-whales from HF that he sent. Pours opaque black with a small brown head which soon recedes. The rooms is filled with this beers aroma instants after removing the cap; liquorice, coffee, roast malt, vanilla and caramel dominate. Taste caramel sweet, sweet vanilla, molasses, creme brulee sweet, roasty, slight berry fruity tartness (ever so small in presence, but they integrate so well), hazelnuts, almonds and a shy bitter coffee presence at the end. Full bodied and a velvety mouthfeel.
