Bottle at Tony/Jim BA Birthday Extravaganza 2013 (Western Springs, IL). Pours a pale golden hue, firmer haziness, lively carbonation shows a frothy whitish head atop. A decent frothy film sits atop, laces ok. Lively carbonation, hazy yellow gold body. Aromas lively hops, nice florals and lemon rind, some earthy bread and cereal grain. Touches of earth, gentle resiny hops. A bit more grapefruit, fresh, well hopped, a good vibe overall. Initial is lighter end of the fold in body, a nice bigger hop element is dry and bittter up front, firm florals, mellow citrus rind. Some bready malts, dry straw, and dryness is fairly potent. Middle is gentle juicyfruit hops, touches of tropical fruit, grainy malt. Smaller body, nice fruity hop complexity and flavor. Backend is dry, a bti spicy. Grass, florals, bready malts. Some nice drinkability from a mellow body, easy drinkability, fairly complex and fresh hopping. A bit of soap, florals and gentle spiciness as we finish. Tasty, fresh, nice stuff.

Slightly hazy, clear pale golden color, and frothy but moderate white head. Fresh grapefruit, orange, peach, and mango aroma. Also some floral and hay in the background. Initial light sweetness quickly overridden by strong dried citrus peel bitterness. Crisp and refreshing with a dry, lingering bitter finish.

On draft at farmhouse tap and grill. Poured into tulip glass. Heavy hop aromas. Heavy hops extend to the flavor. Aggressive and bitter. I had this right after an Edward and the juxtaposition was jarring. So many others do hop bombs and do them well that this did not stand out as exceptional. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Growler shared at Kane. Poured a slightly cloudy watery gold body with an average sized foamy white head. Aroma had some distinct manure notes about it, earthy, skunk weed, old citrus. Delicate body with average carbonation and a super quick fading aftertaste. Flavor of older citrus meat, dry toast, honey sweetness, cereal grains. Overall it had a dirty weird dankness to it.

Bottle [750ml] shared with HogTownHarry and GregClow. Pours a hazy pale gold with with an average size long-lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma of citrus hops, citrus fruit and just a hint of vegetal notes. Flavour of lots of citrus hops, a touch herbal, along with fruit, a bit of alcohol and with a long, dry bitter finish. Medium bodied. Really good.

750ml swing-top growler shared with blankboy and GregClow, via JerCraigs. Light hazy yellow-gold with a large rocky white head. Dry, zesty, mildly fruity aroma, a bit of alcohol (almost 8). Taste - more APA, but wonderful - mid-level light grain, floral bitterness, solid overripe fruit, alcohol - building bitterness, a little oniony. Body on the light side, astringent, moderately carbonated, longish bitter finish that doesn’t quite hit "wow" levels - damned drinkable.

2013-04-26. Lightly hazy yellow orange body, nice off white head and lace. Pleasant aroma, pithy citrus, lemon, sweet grapefruit. 7+ Flavour is similar, pleasant citrus, sweet lemon and grapefruit, muted orange. 7++ Smooth average plus bodied palate and suitable carbonation. 3+ Quite enjoyable. On tap at Hill farmstead.

On tap in a tulip at the brewery. Pours cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma of citrusy and floral hops, some pale, caramel and grainy malts, and a little dough. Flavor the same, with a nice hoppiness but something about the grains seemed slightly off. Average texture. A good beer but not the standard HF greatness.

On tap at Capone's in Norristown, PA. Tasted after Blind Pig and the Plinys. Step above Blind Pig, but a step below the Elder.
