Another great IPA from Hill Farmstead. This really reminds me of a less aggressive abner. Pours a murky yellow/orange with almost nitro like head. Aroma is resin, citrus, and grass. Taste is heavy citrus with little to no sweetness and a dank resiny finish. My only complaint is a slight aspirin like astringent bitterness that detracts from the crisp flavors.

Very pale pour. Serious haze.Looks, smells and tastes like golden grapefruit juice. Bright and floral. Very light malt base. A bit delicate. Carbonation is sharp and stands out more on the tongue than bitterness. A unique IPA. Dry and quite crisp. Not sure what to think of it. I really enjoyed this beer, and I don’t know what to call it other than an IPA, but it doesn’t quite fit the mold of what I look for in an IPA.

on tap at the lord hobo tap takeover. beautifully hazy pale color, with good head. the nose has great flowery hoppy notes. the taste has a subtle up front sweetness with a strong bitter finish. there’s no doubting that this is an ipa rather than a pale ale. the way it should be. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A Sim rate (on tap at Lord Hobo): Intense aroma of sharp, citric hops. Piney, lemon and rosemary. Flavour hits the top of your palate like a bitter bullet. Fierce and so so bitter in the finish. Loved it!

Growler sample via and shared with oakbluff. Cloudy pale gold in colour with moderate soft carbonation. Aromas are of under ripe tropical fruits, tangerine, hedgerow, and a bit of pale malt. Hop forward in the mouth as well, with more tropical and citrus fruit and a kind of mild chalky bitterness. Not nearly as herbal as I would have expected from Columbus, but there’s a touch of that in there too. Not excessively bitter, and the soft carbonation + lots of hops made for an interesting mouthfeel. Good stuff.

750 growler thanks to Glouglouburp. Big orange body with strong tropical fruit taste. Grapefruit as well. Nice overall bitterness. I’m really getting the Columbus. Fantastic.

750ml growler fill all to myself. thanks to those who made this possible... growler opens with a noticeable hiss and yields a rather murky somewhat clouded lighter than apple cider side of the color spectrum and topped with a two finger fluffy white head that quickly reduces to a thin wispy frothy film... assertive juicy fruit aroma upfront with more specific emphasis on tropical fruits, a mild dankness, and a soft citrus rind bitterness that develops a more piney character as it develops. all the aforementioned work well with each other and develop a nice rapport and cohesiveness. a more subtle biscuity malt backbone exists on the backend to provide balance. the hops reign supreme and in a good way at that... flavors exibit the same with juicy tropical fruit, a bit more of the dankness and an evident pithy grapefruit rind/piney bitter backing that tends to linger on the palate for awhile. middle exhibits a medium sweetness with a light crackery malt base that is soon curtailed by the bittering hops. nice balance throughout. terrific flavor profile to go along with a medium bodied and well-suited carbonation for the style. def more bitter and a touch more abrasive than edward but just as enjoyable. i’d like more of both actually, thank you.
