A hazed blonde ale with a thick and lacing white head. In aroma, a pungent citrusy hops with catnip, spices, very nice. In mouth, a crisp malt with signature pungent hops, citrus pulp, light funky character, beautiful. On tap at the Black Back, March 12, 2012.

On tap at Capone’s. Poured an amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of floral hops, citrus, and pine. Tastes of the same...floral hops, citrus, and pine with some lighter caramel too.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 JoeMcPhee (7618) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 15, 2011
Pale golden pour. Thin head. The nose is very bright and fresh. Pine, grapefruit and lots of nice resiny hoppiness. Lots and lots of lean pale malt. Very fresh. Palate is light and dry. Citrusy orange/lemon hop flavour. Assertive, but clean bitterness with some lingering dry hop. Crisp and fresh with a big west-coast hop flavour. Pretty damn solid stuff. More IPA than APA - some light grassiness toward the finish.

A Sim rate (on tap at Lord Hobo): Intense aroma of sharp, citric hops. Piney, lemon and rosemary. Flavour hits the top of your palate like a bitter bullet. Fierce and so so bitter in the finish. Loved it!

My Bottom Line:
Cushy and very drinkable, this IPA delights with its citrusy and spicy hop freshness, diversified by grassy angles and a levelled resinous bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the hazy pale blond.
-The mouthfeel is as light and airy as any other excellent Hill Farmstead brew.
-.This may not be the most captivating IPA in their lineup, but it is a smashing example of their ability to showcase hops while never making the palate tired of them.
-Malts offer mild honeyed/caramelized sweetness to support the prolific hop contribution.
From growler.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Leighton (6910) - London, ENGLAND - SEP 7, 2012
Growler shared with the fellas in NYC at Sander’s place. Pours faintly hazy, rich gold with a frothy, white head. Intense aroma of ripe grapefruit, mango, subtle honey maltiness, fresh pine. Medium sweet flavor with tons of pine, some lightly toasted pale malts, bitter grapefruit and grass, faint earth. Medium bodied with average, smooth carbonation. Strong, fresh and hoppy to finish with plenty of earthy pine and deep grapefruit. Quite epic.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 DocLock (6789) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 2, 2013
Draft at Capone’s and Railroad Street. Pours very hazy dull gold with white head. Nose is pinet earthy malt, grapefruit and mango. Not a super vaporous nose, but a complex nose that sets the tone for what is to come. Tastes complex, silky smooth; one of the most velvety beers I have ever quaffed, with a nice piney resiny hop flavor, well balanced tropical fruit, including mango, tangerine, and papaya at mid-palate, and some black pepper at the finish. This one is sublime, and vastly underrated here. I call this one the Big Brother of Two Hearted.
