3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
750ml swing-top growler shared with blankboy and GregClow, via JerCraigs. Light hazy yellow-gold with a large rocky white head. Dry, zesty, mildly fruity aroma, a bit of alcohol (almost 8). Taste - more APA, but wonderful - mid-level light grain, floral bitterness, solid overripe fruit, alcohol - building bitterness, a little oniony. Body on the light side, astringent, moderately carbonated, longish bitter finish that doesn’t quite hit "wow" levels - damned drinkable.

Growler split cheers to Leighton. Pours hazy golden/orange with a big, white and fluffy head. Nose has massive zest and lime with great honey sweetness. It’s like banana porridge in the morning with some citric fruits added in. Taste has lime zest, sherbert, lime and mint like a mohito, with notable spice and citrus juice. Tangy and bitter all in one. Very good

Bottle... Pours clear and yellow with a mid-sized, wispy, white head. Good retention. The aromatics are a blend of armpit muskiness, lupulin funkiness and light, peppery notes. Medium-bodied and creamy with lazy. The flavor offers heavy bitterness underscored by a hint of cracker malt. Bitter, grapefruit rind finish. Bottle courtesy of landhoney!

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2013 Growler: hazy yellow & orange-tinted body with a soapy white head that fades to a big-bubbled skin rather quickly. Aroma contains amazing notes of fresh citrus zest, some mango, light pineapple, fresh cut grass, mild pine, light onion-y notes. Bright & bursting with hops & citric notes, only a light cracker malt base. Taste is very dry & hop forward. Grass, ash, white pepper, light mango, grapefruit peel, & a pretty raunchy, pine-like bitterness that hits mid-palate. Nice, bitter, dry, & biting with a grassy hop, earthy, & citrus peel finish. Another very nice beer from Hill Farmstead.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at Tony/Jim BA Birthday Extravaganza 2013 (Western Springs, IL). Pours a pale golden hue, firmer haziness, lively carbonation shows a frothy whitish head atop. A decent frothy film sits atop, laces ok. Lively carbonation, hazy yellow gold body. Aromas lively hops, nice florals and lemon rind, some earthy bread and cereal grain. Touches of earth, gentle resiny hops. A bit more grapefruit, fresh, well hopped, a good vibe overall. Initial is lighter end of the fold in body, a nice bigger hop element is dry and bittter up front, firm florals, mellow citrus rind. Some bready malts, dry straw, and dryness is fairly potent. Middle is gentle juicyfruit hops, touches of tropical fruit, grainy malt. Smaller body, nice fruity hop complexity and flavor. Backend is dry, a bti spicy. Grass, florals, bready malts. Some nice drinkability from a mellow body, easy drinkability, fairly complex and fresh hopping. A bit of soap, florals and gentle spiciness as we finish. Tasty, fresh, nice stuff.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Slightly hazy, clear pale golden color, and frothy but moderate white head. Fresh grapefruit, orange, peach, and mango aroma. Also some floral and hay in the background. Initial light sweetness quickly overridden by strong dried citrus peel bitterness. Crisp and refreshing with a dry, lingering bitter finish.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On draft at farmhouse tap and grill. Poured into tulip glass. Heavy hop aromas. Heavy hops extend to the flavor. Aggressive and bitter. I had this right after an Edward and the juxtaposition was jarring. So many others do hop bombs and do them well that this did not stand out as exceptional.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Growler shared at Kane. Poured a slightly cloudy watery gold body with an average sized foamy white head. Aroma had some distinct manure notes about it, earthy, skunk weed, old citrus. Delicate body with average carbonation and a super quick fading aftertaste. Flavor of older citrus meat, dry toast, honey sweetness, cereal grains. Overall it had a dirty weird dankness to it.
