500ml bottle huge thanks to JulienHuxley.
Appearance : Pitch black with small foamy and creamy brown head. Very long head retention with awesome lacing.
Aroma : Crisp, resinous, citrusy and herbal hops with some roasted malt, coffee and slightly wine-y woody notes. Awesome complex nose, a bit unbalanced towards the hops but still well married with the malt. Very light hint of alcohol as it warms up. Light smokey notes as well.
Taste : Great citrusy and juicy hops, piny and resinous. Then the malt comes in, great roadted notes with coffee and light chocolate. Hops come back on the finish with great resinous and juicy piny notes along with some coffee and some wood. Slight red wine notes.
Palate : Awesome soft fluffy and pillowy mouthfeel. Soft carbonation that fits perfectly with the beer.
Overall : Wow this is good. Big citrusy and juicy hops all the way with a great malty backbone with the subtle added complexity of the wood. Awesome persistence on the finish by the malt and the hops. Very elegant, packed with flavour, drinkable, awesome palate, great appearance... hard to find something bad about this beer.

Bottle at home with friends. Pitch black in appearance with a small khaki head and great lacing. Smell is very hop forward with aromas of grapefruit, wine notes, tannin, light char, and grass. Smoke, tobacco, light grapefruit, graham crackers, and dark fruit with a lightly bitter finish. Creamy mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Alcohol is hidden very well and really easy to drink.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, thanks to Steve for the pour! Dark brownish black with tan head, aroma has notes of pine, grass, orange, some lemon, grass notes, hints of some slight oak, touch of slight grape notes. Taste is a nice mix of grass, pine, bready caramel notes, hints of orange, some nice oak, grape mixes with fruit, hints of roast, finishing fairly roasted, fruity and slightly oaky. I like this.

(Bottle) Pours dark brown to black with a creamy, nougat coloured to pale brown head. The aroma holds balanced hoppy notes of tart citrus, mild pine, black currant, tea, juniper, tropical fruit flavoured hard candy and new cut grass. Well-integrated malt of fancy chocolate, soft roasted grain, asphalt and some dark caramel. Subtle wood tones of vine and a tiny touch of vanilla. Hints of blueberry jam, liquorice and wet apple tobacco. Round, compact and deep nose. The flavour is light sweet, medium bitter and tiny acidic with perfect balanced and soft malt character alongside fruity, grassy earthy, mild resinous and a dash of floral hops. Wood and a vine lurking in the background. The mouthfeel is super soft, smooth and velvety with a light carbonation. Vine, well-adjusted, hops, violet candy and smooth malt on the finish. Medium to full bodied.

UPDATED: AUG 9, 2012 500 ml bottle received in trade. Thank you Dany! Pours extremely dark brown, almost black, with a creamy and slightly bubbly mocha head that slowly dissipates while clinging to the glass and leaving some thick lacing. Smell is sweet, malty, slightly fruity and slightly herbal with roasted malts, caramel, pineapple, peaches, dark chocolate, lemon balm, brown sugar sweetened coffee, grapefruit juice, orange peal, alcohol, passion fruit, pine, sweet dark grapes, elderberries and resinous wood. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter, tiny sour, floral, fruity and tiny herbal with roasted malts, grapefruit juice, green and dark grapes, caramel, resinous wood, juicy plums, passion fruit pineapple, moist freshly cut grass, high quality dark roast coffee, orange peal, bitter chocolate, lemon balm, dill, toffee, black pepper and hints of salty liquorice and tar. Mouthfeel is soft, smooth, extremely balanced, very tiny boozy and near full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and tiny sour with resinous wood, dark grapes, pine, dark roast coffee beans, grapefruit peal, freshly cut grass, lemon zest and hints of caramel. Extremely balanced and extremely nice! This is one of the best beers I’ve ever tried.

roasty toasty malty hoppy (oaky winey) goodness... pours a perfect black color with a large billowing latte colored head that holds for some time and reduces leaving an even coat of lacing. the nose begins with the smell of toasted wood which leads to the dark malts and fruity hoppiness. taste is dark rich malts and bursting hop flavors ending with a mild fruity tannic quality... a vinous note plays in at the finish. pretzel like maltiness too. incredibly balanced flavors. delicate alcohol detection.

Pours dark-brown coal color into whatever stem glass I decided to use for this specific Black IPA. Smells of chamomile, Galaxy hops, pizza dough, lemon zest, cocoa powder and chili. Tastes of cigarette smoke, strong-bitter hops, plums, mugwort, tobacco, and roast. Okay, let me be straight with you: finely made, smooth and amazingly drinkable.
