Still pretty good. Cracked tonight pours black, a bit of a creamy top, dark tan. Aromas of dark roast, anise, fennel, dark spitis, vanilla, slightly vinous, pit fruit fig, touch of wood, frankincense. Touch of butter. Creamy feel, finishing a little hot. The normal wow.

.5 L bottle. Pour deep black with a fairly dense tan head that clings to the glass. Nose is chocolate, a hint of toffee and a bit of alcohol. Taste is sweet bourbon, chocolate, toffee, coffee. Mouthfeel is viscous and oily. Very nice!

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy dark and milk chocolate, dark fruits, light vanilla, bourbon, and a hint of alcohol. It pours a dark brown with some faint orange highlights. It has a small brown head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a thin ring. The flavor starts with moderate chocolate, molasses, and a touch of caramel. There is some light dark fruitiness in the middle. The finish light coconut/vanilla, faint bourbon, and a hint of oak. It’s medium-full bodied with mild carbonation and a slightly oily mouthfeel. Overall, we’re certainly off to a great start with the series.

UPDATED: SEP 29, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Alex. Black center, hint of deep brown around the edges, dense khaki foam settles slowly on top. Aroma of dense chocolates coated in whiskey, moderately tannic wood, mild vanillin, roast, sweet cream, some burnt brown sugar, lightly spicy oak, & rich maltiness. Nice whiskey laden flavor in a dense flow of dark cacao, dark fudge, wood, light vanilla, a touch of smoke & char with a bit of finishing roast & dry cocoa beans. Warming whiskey & oak finish with a bit of residual sweetness that clings to the palate. Sightly over carbonated for the style, but not too distracting. A great stout; delicious.

Pitch black, semi dence head. Nose is high on malts, mainly chocolate, some slight heat. Not much left of the bourbon, some delicate notes nonetheless. Some spices. Very nice

Poured from a 500 ml bottle. Aroma is a balanced blend of chocolate and roast. A rich bourbon character with a hint of oak and smoke compliments the malt notes. Hints of almond and vanilla from the oak. Light alcohol spice and more chocolate than roast. Pours jet black with a medium thick, mocha head that recedes fairly quickly to the edges where it lingers. Light lacing and moderately sized legs. Flavor has a medium light sweetness with a balanced roast note, but a dominant chocolate character. Some light tobacco and leather notes. Clean without much dark fruit notes. Medium bourbon notes with faint oak and light vanilla and almond. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice stout with a lot of balance. Nice malt complexity, clean fermentation character and some nice bourbon notes. I can’t remember whether I like this or M&C 2 better as its been a while since I had M&C 2.

Another bottle from czar. Thx!
