Bottle. Lots of mocha flavors were present in this with big malt and a great bourbon flavor. Easily drinkable and excellent overall.

500 ml bottle. Dark roast coffee, chocolate. Lots of barrel and quite a bit of heat on this one, which surprised me for something from HF and this old.

I actually had this a week earlier and it was a completely different experience. Chocolate chips and roast. Light on the barrel. Not 100% sure it was batch 1, but it was the same 500ml, and I believe subsequent bottles were 375.

Bottle thanks to Sebastien! Pours inky black, medium dark brown creamy head that slowly dissipates leaving nice residual and lacing. Aroma is bourbon, cognac, roasted malts, chocolate, oak tannins. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, roasty with a lot of barrel influence. Lots of bourbon, cognac, almost a porty thing going on. Oak tannins everywhere. Some acidity. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel. Solid beer, as would be expected.

Bottle@Luxury tasting#2: "when Benzai was finally sober again". Served at roomtemperature in a Chouffe glass: Thanks PhillyCraft: Blown creamy brown head. Black beer. Head staya on for a looooong time! That’s a 5er! Aromas of whiskey, alcohol, mocha, wood, sweetwood, some raisin, sweet wood, hints of vanilla and pear. Flavours of mocha, wood, vanilla, some spice, dried leaves, bitters, caramel, mocha, smooth roast, sweetbitter, hint of chocolate, apples... Aftertaste is a mix of bitters, light spice, smooth soft roast and sweets like mocha and vanilla with a woody edge. Low carbo, close to silky mouthfeel, between medium and full bodied.

Still pretty good. Cracked tonight pours black, a bit of a creamy top, dark tan. Aromas of dark roast, anise, fennel, dark spitis, vanilla, slightly vinous, pit fruit fig, touch of wood, frankincense. Touch of butter. Creamy feel, finishing a little hot. The normal wow.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy dark and milk chocolate, dark fruits, light vanilla, bourbon, and a hint of alcohol. It pours a dark brown with some faint orange highlights. It has a small brown head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a thin ring. The flavor starts with moderate chocolate, molasses, and a touch of caramel. There is some light dark fruitiness in the middle. The finish light coconut/vanilla, faint bourbon, and a hint of oak. It’s medium-full bodied with mild carbonation and a slightly oily mouthfeel. Overall, we’re certainly off to a great start with the series.
