Mary was Edward’s mother and our great-grandmother. A German-style pilsner brewed with water, American 2-row malt, our favorite German hops, classic German lager yeast. Each batch will vary between 4.6 and 5% abv.

750 flip top growler shared by Paul... Thanks! Pours a slightly hazy light yellow. Smells of lemon, grass, and yeast. Taste is a crisp, clean lemon flavor with a dry finish. Seems like he should have filled green flip tops for this one.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Monks cafe. So yeah, Hill Farmstead makes some pretty awesome beers. They make a good pilsener too but they don’t make pilsners into the best beers ever. I can definitely appreciate the crap out of this beer becaus it is a great pilsener, just not that differentiated from the other greats. Pours a clear pale yellow, white head. Aromas of grains and light lemon zest. Slightly fruity. Taste is light sweetness but finishes clean. Very nice.

Growler. Clear pale yellow pour with a white head. Huge Pilsner bouquet. What can I say it’s a Pilsner. A damn fine Pilsner. Crisp and clean. Good body and mouthfeel.

750ml growler pours clear golden yellow with finger of head. Nose is crisp field grain, cornbread, light orange and apple, soft dough. Taste is super balanced, clean tight medium-low bitterness, light grain, corn, apple, grass. Finishes dry, soft, low bitterness with some white breadcrust, grainy spice, corn, dough. Refreshing and tasty.

On tap at Monk’s cafe, Philly. Pours deep golden with fluffy, white head. Aroma is of biscuit malt, grain and some hops. Body is medium and crisp. Grassy hops, grain and pale malt nicely balanced on the palate. Finish is long, bready. Very good Summer brew.

Draft at churchville. Light golden pour with white head. Light crisp Pilsner malt aromas. Flavors are light malt, light fruit tones, definitely a sessionable Pilsner.

Draught at Armsby Abbey, 8/16/15.
Wonderfully bright golden beer is well-carbonated, clear and shows a large, well-retained white head.
Delightfully hoppy nose shows strong herbal character, with light earthiness and a touch of baked sourdough. Delicious mineral character from the water and or yeast shows through on the finish and the well-attenuated malts give off just the right amount of honey and fresh baguette character. No alcohol nor flaw.
A blend of light minerality, fresh baguette, fresh herbs and a moderate amount of grassy-like bitterness all provide quite a bit of flavor but remain in balance. Impressively clean, malty but not sweet and with a fantastically tight carbonation making for a bright crispness on the finish and high drinkability. Hops seem very fresh and are used liberally (maybe a touch too much so?). Could/would drink this all day, if only.
