12.7 oz bottle. Dark brown with tan foam. Nose is dusty cocoa, wood and orange peel. Thick and creamy with a lovely citric tang. Like hot chocolate with a zest dusting. Tastes almost exactly like the dark chocolate orange peels my wife loves. Rich veins of caramel, vanilla and coffee take this to another level.

This is just kinda there, as RIS goes. Hints of sweet oranges on the front, but a pretty roasty bitter finish, almost acrid, keeps the beer from really being what it should be. I dunno, I expected a much more powerful blast of citrus than I got and the bitterness is offputting.

Poured from a 375 ml bottle. Aroma is full of dark chocolate and citrus, not unlike a chocolate orange with some lighter orange liqueur notes in the background. Medium roast character with a hint of smokiness and light oak. Light alcohol spice. There is a buy of a syrup character. Pours black with a small, moderately thick, dark mocha head that steadily recedes to the edges where it lingers. Medium light lacing and medium length legs. Flavor is moderately roasty with some moderate dark chocolate character. The roast and chocolate are about balanced, but a bit more chocolate. Some medium light citrus notes with a bit of leather and tobacco. Light oak and liqueur notes with some alcohol spice in the finish. Lingering roast, chocolate, molasses and light orange. Mouthfeel is full bodied and slightly oily with medium low carbonation. Low but present astringency and medium alcohol warmth. Slightly to moderately sticky finish. Overall, a nice beer but I don’t get much citrus or orange liqueur in the flavor like I did in the aroma. Nice balance of chocolate and roast with some interesting yeast notes. More citrus and less molasses in the flavor as it warms.

375mL bottle, pours black with a tiny brown head. Aroma brings out robust roasted malt, followed by subtle liqueur. Flavour is divine, with complex roasted malt, accentuated slightly with liqueur but it’s barely noticeable. The roast notes are complex as hell. Wonderful stuff. Excellent BA impie.
