Bottle courtesy of "hannont". Colour...black with a thin tan head. Nose...somewhat soy like but not in a bad way. There’s something coffee like too and just a smidge of burnt orange. Palate...dry, oaky, and tannic. Rather thin on the mouthfeel but that doesn’t distract from the flavour profile which includes dark chocolate, chocolate sirop and day old coffee. Not much citrus on the palate, but that’s ok.

Pours black with low deep tan head. Aroma of molasses, coffee, light citrus bitter, some dried dark fruit. Taste is very chocolate intense with light balancing bitterness and hints of citrus. Lingering coffee and chocolate finish. Very roasty. Full creamy body that manages to stay very light and crisp. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle courtesy of Kermis and shared at Local Option, Chigaco. Poured a deep mahogany with a bubbly tan head. The aroma is rich alcohol liqourice. The flavour is strong bitter with a roasted malt liqourice coffee chocolate slightly watery palate. A super beer but needs more body.

Bottle at Proleteriat. Pours suit black brown tint. Light lacing. Aroma of very heavy chocolate malt. Taste is incredibly smooth chocolate malt deliciousness, awesome. Finish is long and malty savory. Medium mouthfeel, which is one of the best things about it.

On tap at CBC 2012. Beer in the glass deep black, small head. Smokey-malty aroma. Strarts strong-malty, scratchy-woody, hints of liquorice. Finish softer malty, modest spicy. Some mild sourish hints. Quite drinkable for a beer of this strength.
