Tap at CBC, May 2012. It pours jet black, with a decent tan head. The nose is fresh citrus, pith, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and some toasted coconut. The taste is roasted malt, liquorice, strong citrus (orange and some lime), chocolate, caramel, toffee, strong coffee, charcoal, soap and some alcohol warmth, with a dry-roasted finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Interesting and flavoursome.

MrChopin (2927) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 9, 2012
dark brown, oily thin tan head with a life of its own. Heavy fudge, prune, and light roast-hop combo bitterness. Flavor is roast at front, chocolate and earth with cocoa mid before finishing with a perfect roast-chocolate balance. Thin profile accents fruit and roast profile, no sugar muting, but not the integration of Black note or the brash beauty of Rare.

Tap @ CBC. Deep hazy brown color with a tiny coffee brown head. The nose is coffee, sweet peaches and mocha chocolate. Some hints of mandarin orange. The taste is strong roasty coffee and lactose. Like vietnamese coffee and condensed milk. Burning sugar and light wood. The body’s full and very sweet. Soft carbonation. Very easy to drink. Nice.
