750ml growler at a tasting with JulienHuxley, Minderbinder, HoppyPocket and Tom10101. Bottle thanks o either one of those fine gents.
Appearance : Clear pale yellow with small head. Nice color. Nice lacing.
Aroma : Awesome aromatics. Great floral and herbal hops with light white wine notes.
Taste : Great floral and fruity hops. Light white wine notes. Great floral finish with some malts. Light tangerines notes.
Overall : Wow. This is most likely the best Nelson Sauvin beer I’ve ever had. The hop was so expressive and characteristic. An amazing display of the complexity of this hop carried by a greatly executed APA vehicle. Outstanding bouquet. Probably the first time I can easily get those fruity white wine notes from this hops. This beer blew my mind.

Sampled first while waiting in line at the brewery, then shared twice more from two fresh growlers. Similar appearance to Walden and Edward, lemony yellow, very hazy, frothy thickly lacing head. Similar overall profile too, with austere crackery malts quietly allowing the hop canvas to showcase the lovely Nelson Sauvin hop. The hops are the star here, but I’m impressed with the skill used in balancing this beer with a perfect malt bill that brings everything together. It’s almost like the malts are not even here, but they are. HF has set a new standard for APAs for me.

A light, hazy marigold. Breezy aroma of tropical fruits, pears, and herbs.

Greenish flavor heavy on herbs, especially tarragon, and sweet stone fruits. Mango, passionfruit, and peach. There’s a garlicky pungency and a mild, sweet grassiness to round it out.

Extremely light, airy palate. Scant malt flavor, such low alcohol; the hop shines through almost as if this is a simple flavored spritzer.

A very easy drinking Pale Ale that showcases the nelson sauvin hop. Hazy pour, fruity, musty, citrus fruit, grape in both aroma and taste. The hop takes a front seat here. On tap at a few VT establishments.

Growler pour into Alchemist tumbler. Pours a very hazy yellow with a thick white head that lingers. Aroma is hoppy with a fruity hint to it, citrus. Taste is a little fruity with a hint of malt. Smooth mouthfeel with a little carbonation. Dry finish. First HF beer didn't disappoint. Looking forward to trying the more highly acclaimed.

Growler, shared with Colin and courtesy of him and his patient family - thanks! Hazy pale dark yellow, foamy white head. Sharp strong citrus aroma, musky, dry. Strong taste - almost pungent, sharp citrus hops, clean, dry. Really solid. My first HF beer! A great first impression.

Growler at BCTC courtesy of Dennis. Pours a lightly hazed gold with a thin white head. Citrus, grapes, musk, light yeast on the nose. Medium bodied, sweet citrus, soft musk. Sweet, soft grapes, lovely. Super clean. Sweet citrus into a slow bitterness. Beautiful.
