_angst_ (3058) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - NOV 5, 2014
Bottle received in trade. Pours deep ruby reddish brown with a frothy and creamy goldenish beige head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is malty, fruity and funky with dark bread, toasted cereal, oatmeal cookies, moist soil, leather, raisins, balsamic vinegar, moist hay, barnyard, cocoa powder and hints of citric and lactic acid. Taste is tiny sweet, slightly sour, malty and tiny fruity with sweet dark bread, toasted cereal, caramel, raisins, prunes, leather, hay, moist soil, moist wood, balsamic vinegar, cocoa powder, liquorice root, lemon juice, sour milk, barnyard, lemon zest and subtle hints of acetic acid. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny dry, slightly tart and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, slightly sour and malty with dark bread, caramel, cocoa powder, raisins, lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, moist soil, hay, leather, lemon zest and hints of acetic acid. Nicely balanced! A hard one to master and this is a very elegant attempt that competes with some of the best beers of the style.
