COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Society and Solitude #3: The series of experimental Double IPAs continues. This one is hopped with ample amounts of Columbus and is reminiscent of… an Imperial Harlan.

Very hazy amber beer, good off white head. Palate is smooth with good fine carbonation. Minerals. Nice mellow fruity hops - blood orange and regular orange marmalade. Lesser lemon and grapefruit. Finishes neutral with a good bitter marmalade aftertaste.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured hazy golden copper color with an average to large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Medium to heavy complex floral hop aroma. Medium to full body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy smooth bittersweet herbal flavor with a medium to heavy complex bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer.

A hazed amber ale with a thin creamy frothy off white head. In aroma, classic Hill pungent hops, catty and smooth, orange pulp, a bit of Brett notes. In mouth, biscuit malt with piney hops, catty notes, citrus pulp, beautiful. On tap at Three Penny Taproom, April 6, 2012.

Growler @ Dans house, courtesy of glouglouburp. Huge thanks! Pours a hazy, light, bright, golden orange appearance with a nice white head that doesn’t have the best retention. Huge piney, ganja, somewhat resiny hoppy aroma. Somewhat sweet grapefruit citrusy, big piney, ganja, sticky hoppy flavor with a fairly piney aftertaste. Great beer.

Growler… Pours hazy and yellow with a small, fizzy, white head. Good retention. The bouquet is a mélange of grapefruit, cat piss, lemon peel and dank hops. Medium-bodied with a sandy mouthfeel and busy carbonation. The flavor is medium to heavily bitter and presents a great deal of grapefruit rind. Raspy, bitter, tongue-numbing finish. Kudos to landhoney for sharing this rarity! I am so glad I had the chance to try it.

Capping bottle, or half a growler. Cloudy orange colour, lots of lace. Hoppy, fresh and citrus aroma. Above average mouthfeel, but hop pellet bitterness. Raw and not the greatest drinkability. Dissapointing experience.

Growler shared by Steve. Cloudy yellowish orange with white head. Nose/taste of citrus, tropical fruits, malt, yeast, fresh grapefruit and lemony bread. Medium body.

750mL flip-top thanks to oteyj. Pours glowing gold, hazy, with a massive, egg white rocky head with huge retention. Big lace. Nose is holy dear god of gods. Ultra dank butterscotch and starfruit nose with huge marijuana. Ohh. Taste is bitter with excellent yellow nectar fruit balance. Huge mango skin and unrepentant mango flesh. Approaches what I remember batch 1 of Sculpin being. So much fresh mango and pineapple with quenching butterscotch malt. Amazing. Saltwater in the finish with heavy yellow grapefruit pith. Very long oily grapefruit finish. Amazing. I hate Double IPAs. Thankfully no other brewery in the world can make them this good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
