Bottle shared by Dr Silverworm. Poured cloudy yellow color with an average frothy white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus and earthy cat box aroma. Medium to abundant body with a slick texture and soft carbonation and small particles. Moderate to heavy complex bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy complex bittersweet finish of medium to long duration. This is a interesting standout beer.

Grower thanks to Kyle! Pours a clear deep amber with a white head that dissipate to the edges and remains. Aroma has a good amount light citrus and pine with a hint of bitter pine and sweet grains. Flavor has a great combination of bitter citrus and pine backed by some earthy rains.

Sampled while waiting in line at the brewery, and again from a fresh growler. Certainly the most piney of the five hoppy offerings at HF this summer season, but not sticky or resinous; still possessing that delicate floral quality that makes the lighter beers so appealing. There certainly is more bitterness in the finish too. Can a hoppy beer be "big" and still be elegant? This experience of graduating from low ABV hoppy ales (I think Walden was 3.6%) up to this heavier beast proves to me that it becomes more challenging to create nuance and balance, but the chosen malt bill and the hop freshness still keep this beer bright and extremely enjoyable. Having the opportunity to try these beers fresh from the source has been a tremendous treat for me.

750ml growler, thanks to caterwaul. Shared with tmoney99 and alexsdad06. Wonderful citrusy, lightly piney nose. Very tangy citrusy flavor. Nectarine, mandarin orange, light spicy hop. Clean bready, biscuity malt, pretty much no caramel malt. Bigger bitter taste. Mostly hazy golden orange color. Thin off-white head. Little lace sticks. Bigger body. Smooth, crisp carbonation. Lightly sticky in the finish. Satisfying, solid, well balanced DIPA.

Growler shared by drewbeerme. Thanks, dude. Pours a richer orange amber hue, good haziness, decent glow with a creamy offwhite head atop that stays as a decent filmy layer, thicker ring, with good lacing throughout. Aromas show florals, gumball, and grapefruit. Some lemon, decent rind presence with gentle earth, bread, and fruit. A bit of melon, gumball, and mellow crisp malts. Initial is medium bodied, a bit lighter, lotta Simcoe fruit with melon, gentle tropical fruit. Some catty elements on the nose. Middle is a touch sweeter, still a juicy fruit presence with mandarin oranges, some bread, tropical fruit. Backend is a bit sweeter, a touch of crystal malt, bready and biscuity malt meet a good fruit presence, tropical fruit and melon. Some decent grapefruit. Decent floral, grassy quality. A touch orange and lemon. With a gentle sweetness. A solid beer, a bit sweet at times. But a nice hop profile but a touch sweet.

750 ml flip top on a couple occasions. Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have grapefruit citrus, some tropical notes and big catty hops (especially in the nose). The flavor shows much more balance with the malts standing up to the grapefruit, earthy and catty hops. Solid bitterness to the finish. Another solid beer from HF.

Growler courtesy of Vinny shared with Vinny and Frank. Pours a lift golden body with nice white head and lots of lacing. Aroma is lots of citrus, bitter grapefruit and citric hops. Mouthfeel is medium with lots of bitter grapefruit, lots of sugar and spice.

750 ml growler to oversized snifter (shared with the wife on our 3rd anniversary; BIG thanks to DuffMan for shipping this unexpected gift - along with a few others - from out of the blue!). Looks good; a transparent golden orange with light sediment and fluffy white head that dissipates into lacing. Smells good too; a very pleasant hop profile with a good bit of pine and a nicely balanced pale malt backbone with a well-balanced touch of sweetness. Tastes like it smells with a good mouthfeel that’s nice and light on the palate for an Imperial IPA. Great beer!

From a huge 64oz growler. Poured a slightly hazy yellow color with a white head. Aroma was fresh smelling, citrus and grass notes - not quite cat pee, but close. Flavor was relatively well balanced between malts and pine, with a very small touch of booze coming through. It wasn’t bad, but it was otherwise completely unremarkable compared to previous, and much better, Society and Solitude releases I’ve had in the past.

on tap at parker pie. murky very light golden pour with a creamy and dense white head, good retention and lacing. tons of fruitiness - mangoes and dried sweet apricots, pils, pale lightly honeyed malts, citrus, flowers and pine. bit of booze. dank hops. average carbonation, medium body - oily and a bit sticky, aromatic citrus-pine finish. balance is ok, attenuation could be more convincing. very nice dipa tho, again. another nice SS..
