4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: JUL 2, 2013 In short: A superb refreshing and highly aromatic hoppy blond IPA bursting with floral and tropical fruits hops
How: A few times on tap. This rating for a growler consumed fresh the day of purchase
The look: Cloudy yellow-blond body topped by a medium white head leaving lots of lacings on the glass
In long: As usual from HF hoppy beer, hereís a highly aromatic hoppy nose, fresh an vibrant. This one proposes a strong floral character backed by tropical fruits. Body is typical blond IPA malt bill, a mix of fresh baguette, crisp crackers, low sweetess, soft bubbles. Hopping provides a clean and flavorful bitterness that is more refreshing than intense. I had this beer on tap on many occasions at the brewery and it is surprising how a few weeks can change a beer. Once I noted that it was the least bitter of all the very hoppy beer Iíve had, a few weeks later I found the bitterness was rather sharp. But it was always excellent, and maybe my favorite of the all the Hill Farmstead single IPAs. And if you are drinking this beer and a major in philosophy asks you what you are drinking, lie, make up a beer name, donít answer, just donít say the beer name, trust me on this one.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Made the long motorcycle journey to Greensboro, VT, braved the dirt roads to get to Hill Farmstead Brewery and enjoy on tap in June 2012.
A: Citrus, hops and pineapple. Strong, amazing pineapple in the nose. The malts break through toward the end.
A: Hazy burnt-golden color, with a small head that fades rather quickly.
T: Mild hop presence and creamy malts up front. The citrus and tropical fruits really shine on the back end. Goes down smoothly and on a warmer day I could put down several of these very quickly.
P: Perfect carbonation. Fairly strong bodied for the style. Crisp and smooth.
O: An excellent representation of the style. One of the best APAís Iíve ever had. Beg, borrow or steal to get this!

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
From growler, courtesy of Peter & Yolanda. Beautiful hop aroma - piney, apricot, pineapple - sweet and luscious. Pale golden haze with thin white lacing head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Starts medium sweet with tons of hop flavors. Mild bitterness but intense flavor. A delicious APA and a real treat to try.

750mL growler purchased at the brewery. Shared with friends on 7/9/13. Clear gold pour with a medium white head. Aroma of mango, citrus, malt and pine. Malty flavor with grapefruit and pine accents before a bitter grapefruit peel finish. Very well done.

Growler: The aroma consists of moderate citrus, grapefruit, and light dank hops. It pours slightly hazy dull golden-orange with a small white head that fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. The flavor starts with quick dose of citrus. The finish has moderate grapefruit, pine, and a touch of lemon. Itís light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Another killer Pale Ale from Hill Farmstead.

A bit chewy, bready, spicy, lightly dank, grapefruity, garlic/onion, cracker flavor that finishes a bit spicy. Refreshing and just too fucken easy to drink. Really a nice and flavorful APA. 4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Ever so slightly hazy golden orange, thin white head. Somewhat fainter aroma of grapefruit, citrus, and hints of peach. Light sweetness followed by the perfect amount of bitterness in the back. Light-bodied, no alcohol presence. Clean, crisp, and very refreshing.
