Big cork and caged bottle from the Himmerod Abbey. Labeled Abtei Himmerod. No mention of Val-Dieu. Weird.
Amber colored pour. Big soapy white head that is quick to fall and leaves minimal lacing. Yeast and malt notes in the nose area. Sweet, alcoholic, yeast, malt, and sugar taste. Hot, sweet, and kind of thin.

A tick in The Sickies with Dirtman- unbelievable. Just bring a wad of notes for your deposit on the ornate Belgian glassware- that’s a deposit on every glass, not just the Kwak trumpet. At least they’re trying. The beer is average. Deep orange with a slick-lacing foam. Aroma of beans on wholemeal, grass, faint banana. Sweet and sugared with a rub of grass, vague warm, honey on wholemeal. Super dull.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Koelschtrinker (6544) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 10, 2011
Hab schon Besseres getrunken.
