COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hinano Ambrée is not only made from unroasted malt, which is used in all beers, but also from slow-roasted malt, giving the beer its unique character. But there is more! The aromatic hop used strengthens the intense flavor of Hinano Ambrée.

330ml bottle shared with blankboy - thanks to JerCraigs. I’m a-scared!!! Bright clear deep copper with a small off-white dimishing head. Sweet, grassy, not harsh at all - lightly roasty, even. Taste - where the hell is the nasty?! - sweet, grassy, light, no alcohol, a bit of bitterness in the finish. Light, slick, clean finish - damn it, this is pretty decent!

330 ml bottle, bought from somewhere in Japan. Pours brownish amber with almost no head. Aroma is subdued and sweet, not crazily sweet but more like Coca-Cola-sweet, or cider-sweet - without acidity, or lychee-sweet. This sweetness is coming from malts but no apparent hops there. Taste has this same lychee character with light Coca-Cola. Hops demonstrate themselves in the aftertaste, dry bitterness lingers in your mouth for a while. I wonder how common this beer really is in Tahiti - it is not very complex beer but still pretty nice and would work well under the hot sun.

Numerous bottles and a few drafts of this while in Tahiti. Moderately thick head. Flavor is wet roasted grain. Typical Vienna aroma and appearance. Light mouthfeel which is what you need in French Polynesia. Better than regular Hinano, but still just a below-average Vienna.

[5080-20130127] 330mL bottle. Burnt malt grain aroma. Clear, dark amber brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Toasted grainy corn malt flavour is sweet but then finishes bitter. Medium body. Interesting, not bad. (6/3/6/3/12) 3.0

Bottle [330ml] shared with HogTownHarry -- c/o jercraigs. Pours a deep orange-amber with an average size long-lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt and fruit. Flavour of toasted caramel malt, some brown sugar and a dry finish. Average bodied. This was way better then I expected, I could actually drink this.

2013-01-27. Crisp dark mahogany, small beige head. 3+ Mild aroma, dry caramel malt, light alcohol. 5+ Flavour is similar, dry lightly toasty malt caramel touches. Sweetish middle, dry lightly bitter finish. 6++ Average plus bodied palate. 3+ Surprisingly decent! Bottle from Tahiti c/o my mother

Dark amber colour. The aroma is a little bit bubblegummy. The taste has toasty malts with a hint of roast - less caramelly than one might expect, but those random phenols give me pause when I see it in the stores. It’s too bad, normally a little toasty lager would be a good break from the monotony of regular Hinano.
