3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Juelze (1123) - Green Bay, USA - DEC 6, 2008
UPDATED: DEC 7, 2008 This one surprised me. Appearance is a ruddy color with nice amounts of off white lacing. Aroma is nice notes of caramel, some moderate hop fruitiness, and some slight spice. Taste is much the same with some nice fruitiness and caramel intertwined. This is probably one of the best amber ales I have had in a long time.

1 pint bottle. Thin off-white head. Bubbles on side of glass. Clear amber color. Crisp carbonation, dry texture. Toasty, caramel, bready aroma, some light hops. Light sweet, toasty taste. Decent amber. The 1 pint bottle size makes it convenient to enjoy with a sandwich.

Heidel House Brewfest. Reddish amber in color. Aroma is light, generic hops and sweet toasted malt and caramel. Flavor is a slightly grainy toasted malt, light caramel that gives way to a moderate herbal-type hop bitterness that lingers.

Decent Amber. Aroma is light with some maltiness and hay. Taste is better than the aroma. Very sweet with carmel and malts. Alittle to sticky on the palate, but not bad overall.

Sampled from the tap at the Milwaukee location. Pours a clear amber with an off white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has a nice floral note with light hops and backing cereal. Flavor has notes of sweet grains and cereal with a bit of light fruit in the finish.

Bottle. Mostly clear amber pour with a nice initial soapy head that fades quickly. Nice aroma of flowers and caramel. Medium to lighter palate, low carbonation. Taste isn’t as good as the aroma - mild caramel, low hop, low carbonation.

On tap. My friend thought it was hoppy, but to me this is as middle-of-the-road hum-ho as it gets.

Pours a deep amber (go figure) with thin white head. A lot of lacing is left. Aroma is malty and sweet. The taste is full of malts up front, then some caramel and roasted notes come in before a slightly hoppy finish. Not too bad!
