Our Door County Cherry Wheat pours a golden, orange hue. The frothy two finger off-white, slightly pink-tinted head fades to leave a spotty lace. The slight aroma of cherries doesnít over power the soft wheat smell. These flavors play wonderfully together, neither overpowering the other in taste. With a medium-light body, Cherry Wheat leaves you with a mildly tart Montmorency cherry finish.

Pours a light amber color. No aroma to speak of. Deffinetly tasting the cherry, but thatís it. All in all would be a refreshing summer ale, but needs more of a malty backbone.

Backlog rating 10-31-2012 (Bottle) The appearance is a large very foamy off-white head, mostly transparent/slightly hazy golden body, very fizzy carbonation, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is musty, cherries and sweet. The flavor is sweet and artificial cherries. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. This beer does not have a lot of cherry characteristics and is bland tasting. This is a beer that I do not recommend and is not on my list of beers to drink again.

Meh. Poured with a nice off-white head that slowly settles, some lace, and a hazy honey amber color. Aroma is a yeasty beery, slightly cherry. Flavorís like an average amber ale with tart cherry added.. Body is ok. Finish is ok. Probably good to cook with.

The cherry wheat Iím most familiar with is Sam Adams. Itís not bad, but this is better. I would call the taste more cherry pie than pure cherry.

This "malt beverage," as the label calls it, has a golden body with tiny bubbles rushing upwards to support a thick spongy white head. It (the label) also reads "with cherry added." Am I to believe that they squashed one cherry into my bottle? Whatever. The aroma is like a combination of bing and marischino cherries, light but fruity. The taste has a subdued cherry flavor with some bread dough and a soft cherry stem bitterness. Itís drinkable, but I donít believe youíll find me having another.

Amber with a slight reddish tint. Big off white head. Plenty of lacing. Slight sour and fruit aroma. Taste is cherries up front followed malt in the back. Tart finish.

Pour is flat and feels flat on palate. Aroma of sour cherry and wheat. Flavor is amazing! Wow, what a great fruit beer. Perfect balance of cherry and malty flavor with aftertaste that is sweet.

on tap @ Brew River Gastropub / Cincinnati OH --- Hazy dark amber, foamy rim head, strings of lace. Taste is malt that adds caramel and a quick mild shot of Queen Anne cherries, moving on to a finish that is hopped just enough to balance. The cherry lingers deep into the finish. This works because it is more about the malt than it is the fruit.

This seems to be made w/ real cherries rather than extract so, hey, thatís a pretty good start. It pours headless and orange w/ a very slight pinkish tinge to it. Itís slightly cloudy and nearly headless. The nose on this is mostly cherries up front w/ a pretty decent bready malt presence in the background. Taste is lightly sweet and tart which brings the focus more on the cherries. This is medium bodied w/ a creaminess from the wheat which gives it a nice juicy texture reminiscent of a hefeweizen (though this has nothing of that styleís signature yeast character). Normally, I donít like this sort of thing at all but this is reasonably subtle for being so cherry focus and generally well put together. This reminds me somewhat of New Garusís fruit beers only w/ a lot more beer character.

Cereal aroma. Standard longneck, generic label. Clear, maple colored beer with a little pink tinge, lacy white head. Not sweet. Reminds me of the crust just below the cherry pie filling - doughy, infused with cherry juice. Not bitter. Light body, some tang in the finish along with a few sharper cherry notes. Easy drinking, but not going to set the world on fire. ABC, Betton.
