IPA has a roasty amber color with a lacey, beige head to top it off. With citrus and floral aromas, a pronounced hop presense fills the nose. A slightly biscuity flavor with well balanced bitterness and a malty sweetness finishes with a dry mouthfeel and a lasting bitterness.

Pours slightly cloudy, amber with a short tan head. Aroma is breadheel, orange-peel, malt. Taste is a dusty, soft bitter of peels..... Bread, herbal hops, resin, pepper. Slightly sticky.....dull.

Hazy bronze and copper coloured body with a bit of an orange glow and a nice, one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of fresh hops, apricots, oranges, pine, grapefruit and some solid malt notes, all with a hint of alcohol. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and nutty flavours with some good malt backbone, a tiny bit of the hops noticeable in the smell with only the herbal and grassy ones coming through in the flavour. Aftertaste shows some malt notes, a little caramel sugars and a tiny amount of hops. Overall, a bit subdued, especially for the style, but the dry hopping was present as evidenced by the nose, but the flavour and complexity simply weren’t there - this is more of an APA, if that. I sampled this 50cL bottle purchased from Ridgeview Liqour in Green Bay, Wisconsin on 29-July-2012 for US$2.25 sampled at home in Washington on 18-June-2013.

On tap sampler at a beer festival. Remind me to never drink this while the Vikings are playing the Packers...

Poured...or drawn from a firkin / cask at cellar temp at Northtown Taproom in Chicago. Pale orange with thin head; some hops in initial nose...but pretty mild. More malty than ’your usual’ IPA....interesting but not the best. Worth the experiment...

On tap in the Holiday Inn Stadium in Green Bay. Pours a pale orange with an offwhite head leaving some lacing and having a lot of carbonation. Aroma has of pine and heavy toffee malts with a bit of a strange off-kilter smell. Taste is of heavy malts and sweet caramel with some herbalness and some pine. Finishes a bit heavy with some alcohol presence.

Cask version at Winking Lizard’s 5th Annual Real Ale Fest (03/23/13): The beer pours a clear copper color with a medium white head that recedes steadily. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of hops, citrus and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of citrusy hops, bready malt and a bit of caramel. The finish is mildly bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle - Pours lightly hazy amber with a big foamy off-white head. Nose is pine tar, metal, and an astringent, dry malt base. Taste is juicy pine up front, drying through the middle into that astringent malt base. Finishes with pine hops, but they’re never really all that pungent. Odd oniony finish. Thick and slick in the mouth. Definitely not my preferred hop profile, and the whole thing feels a little to thick and boozy.
