Bottle from mellow mushroom. Pours dark black with trace off white head. Only a small amount of acidic nose. Acidic coffee overtones and some malt darkness lurking underneath. ---Rated via my mouth

1 Pint Bottle from Andersons in Sylvania. Near black pour with a tan head that disappears quickly leaving a ring. Aroma is nutty, coffee, roasted malts. Tastes are bitter dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee. Syrupy thin to medium texture. Ashy bitter finish. Pretty good.

Aroma is layers of Tootsie Roll chocolate and milk chocolate while the taste and finish is waves of slightly sharp coffee that is lightly roasted and high in acidity, like a good Colombian or Guatemalan. Very attractive with a long-lasting head and blackish-brown color. Worth locating while visiting Wisconsin.

Coffee and bitter chocolate escape as soon as the bottle is opened. Coffee is, indeed, the dominant flavor here. Plenty of bitter chocolate to go with it, as well. The hops kick in at the back end for a little more bitterness. Not much else to say. Loads of coffee with enough other flavors going on to make it interesting. I’d do this again.

Pours a dark black color with a nice mocha head. Nose is all coffee and espresso, and richly so. Taste is all coffee and rich malt. Finishes like a cup of good joe. Quaff Score 8 / 10

Pours a dark brown with a brown head and aroma of straight coffee. Taste is of coffee beans, cappuccino, and roasted malt with a sweet, medium, coffee finish. Great coffee stout for coffee lovers.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. Red black. Tiny head. A dry coffee aroma and flavor. Very nice.

Pours nearly black with a thick, light brown head. Scent is coffee roast....smoked wood. Taste is rich malt, dark coffee....a nice ashy bitter.... Not a hint of sweetness...which I find enjoyable... Straight and to the point. Excellent.

On nitrogen at Jerry’s. Black with fair, nitro tan head / Rich nose of coffee, chocolate, and grass / Medium body, nitro creamy, modest acidity, dry, hoppy with excellent balance and bitter finish / Mild but full flavors of dark roast coffee, unsweetened chocolate, lemon, grass, and caramel / A stylish, easy-drinking, working man’s stout.

Color is black/ruby with visable light. Had about a 2 finger tan had. Aroma was as the label would sugest but on a mild side with roasted grains and coffee/mocha. Nothing overpowering. Taste losses some of the coffee flavors and has more of the roasted grains. Mouthfeel is very thin, if I did not see the label I would think this was a light porter. Overall, glad I can get a 4 pack of pints for a reasonable price.
