Bottle from Ware House Liqour, Chicago. Pitch black beer with a very nice beige/brownish beer. Roasted coffee aroma, malty, cocoa, licorice, hat, fruity, raisins, figs, soot, some dark chocolate. Coffee flavor, figs, raisins, soot, hoppy, heavy roasted, livorice, some dark chocolate. Roasted hop finish with dark chocolate, caramel, livorice, hay and some citrus. Good beer.

12 oz bottle from Discount Liquor. Pours dark brown/black, opaque. Dark chocolate and coffee on the nose. Substantial head. Taste is rich, dark roasted malts. Coffee, dark chocolate, with subtle hints of dried fruit and star anise. Nicely balanced Imperial Stout. I’ll be going back for this one. Well done.

Draft at Dutch’s. Pours a dark brown to black color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have nice roasted malts, black coffee, dark chocolate with back end roasty bitterness. Nothing jumps out as outstanding. Pretty much a straight forward imperial stout and one of the better beers I’ve had from these guys.

an ok imperial stout, but there was an odd metallic twang in the aftertaste.

Black pour with a thick dark tan head - lots of carbonation on this one, which is a bit odd for the style. Sweet raisin / grape nose. Body is on the thin side, exacerbated by high level of carbonation. Taste is coffee, roasted malt and just slightly sweet with massive bitter chocolate and bitter roasted malt finish.

12 ounce bottle. Big nice pour. Dark and roasty. Chocolate. Big taste. Slight burnt coffee. Probably the best I’ve had from Hinterland yet.

Please ignore my numbers, this stuff is on style and if you like immmmp stout, put this on yer 2 do list. Nice smooth choco or malt aroma. Big black pour. There you have, one big nasty nellie rototiller for yer tongue, what else needs to be said? Big kick in the lager loven buds. Looks like used 50w motor oil out of my shovel.

Bottle. Pours black as oil with long -lasting thick brown head. Aroma is thin roasted malts, sweet cocoa and some coffee. Flavor bitter chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Thin mouthfeel, really became more complex as it warmed.

Draft pour at village tap. Black with with sticky white head. Chocolate and coffee taste. Pretty sweet flavor too. Good.
