Pours deep, rubied-brown with a thick, light brown head.
Aroma is lightly mapled, malt and sugar.
Taste is chocolate, malty.. again a little maple...
Tasty, but more bock than maple.

Bottle. Overall a good, rich, flavorful bock for the spring season. Aroma is that vibrant bock cinnamon and spice, with a palette of browns and reds in my glass. Sweet malt and brown sugar balance nicely with more cinnamon spice. Not getting much maple syrup, but definitely getting molasses and black licorice. I like this, just on the right side of the sweet-o-meter.

5 ounce sampler at the tap room restaurant in Milwaukee. If you like chocolate chip pancakes topped with maple syrup, you’ll enjoy this beer. I thought is was delicious, even if it hits on some easy pickin’s crowd pleaser flavors. My only qualm was my lack of bacon to eat alongside it. Dark orange-mahogany tint, no foam nor lacing. Flavor, as mentioned, of maple syrup, coffee, wood, earthiness, chocolate, fairly sweet. Medium bodied, smooth and a little flat in carbonation. Overall an enjoyable one, filling and big-flavored (so it’s best in small doses), a great candidate for a beer at a brunch.

Thin, slightly bitter but nutty aftertaste. Chocolate aroma. Not a great beer, but not the worst, either.

Draft at Trion. Strong milk chocolate and sweet maple aroma. Deep chestnut with a small beige head. Maple and roasty earthy malt flavor. Medium body, flat carbonation.

Nothing really great to say. Poured a dark brown with about a 2 finger head. Aroma hits you with maple, caramel and some metallic hints. Flavor is sweet caramel and malts followed by some bittering maple. The flavor is sharp, not really melded together well.

Half a glass on tap at Cock and Bull. Dark brown color. Thin khaki / off-white head. Leaves a few dots of lace. Some maple in the nose, and a robust maltiness that you’d expect from a bock. Medium, kind of lighter body. Light carbonation, goes down smooth. No stickiness or viscosity. Nice maple in the flavor, works well with the toasty malts. More sweet taste, little bitter. Solid twist on a bock. I think this works.

Pint bottle poured into pint glass. Pours a dark brown with a red hue and a decent tan head. Aroma is sweet with malts and maple with a hint of chocolate and liquorice. Taste is a dulled down malt and maple up front with chocolate and a faint hop finish. Full body, but a slightly thin watery texture. Overall nice, but not as pronounced of a taste as I had hoped for and a bit too thin.

16oz bottle pours light brown color with light brown head. Letting it warm up some. The initial aroma is of roasted malts, mild chocolate undertones and hints of maple. The flavor is suprisingly good. You get the roasted malt flavor along with hints of light chocolate and some maple. Not overly sweet.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. Darker brown with red. A maple nose. I taste mostly maple and earth with some wheat. Decent.
