3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the Hinterland in Green Bay. Served a rich, dark mohogany hue with a nice head. Aromas of roasted malt with a sweet hint of maple. Taste was similar with roasted malts predominating followed by a hint of maple and a low - moderate hop finish. Very nice. Mouthfeel was nice a rich without being over the top. Overall, a nice offering from Hinterland.

Sour. Initially didn’t like to much but grew on me and thought it was ok. Not sweet like maple but tart.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a deep brown color with off white head. Maple syrup, cream, milky aromas. Roasty, maple syrupy, burnt, sweet flavors. Pretty sweet. Wouldn’t be bad for a fall or winter seasonal.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle in KC, thanks to jcnielsen. Pours a hazy, dark reddish brown appearance with a light brown. Woody/sappy, thick caramel, syrupy, a touch fruity aroma. A bit thin, sort of herbal bitter, moderately sweet, burnt sugar, woody, chocolate flavor. Kind of interesting.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sample at the Hills Market beer tasting on 05/30/2013: Dark reddish-brown color with a medium tan head that recedes slowly. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of grainy malt and maple. Medium body with flavors of maple, roast nuts and doughy malt. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Taste is chocolate, malty.. again a little maple...
Tasty, but more bock than maple.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Overall a good, rich, flavorful bock for the spring season. Aroma is that vibrant bock cinnamon and spice, with a palette of browns and reds in my glass. Sweet malt and brown sugar balance nicely with more cinnamon spice. Not getting much maple syrup, but definitely getting molasses and black licorice. I like this, just on the right side of the sweet-o-meter.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
5 ounce sampler at the tap room restaurant in Milwaukee. If you like chocolate chip pancakes topped with maple syrup, you’ll enjoy this beer. I thought is was delicious, even if it hits on some easy pickin’s crowd pleaser flavors. My only qualm was my lack of bacon to eat alongside it. Dark orange-mahogany tint, no foam nor lacing. Flavor, as mentioned, of maple syrup, coffee, wood, earthiness, chocolate, fairly sweet. Medium bodied, smooth and a little flat in carbonation. Overall an enjoyable one, filling and big-flavored (so it’s best in small doses), a great candidate for a beer at a brunch.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Thin, slightly bitter but nutty aftertaste. Chocolate aroma. Not a great beer, but not the worst, either.
