3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Multiple pint pours - Official deScription is right on: "Starts crisp citrus flavor and leaves a spicy pepper finish." Probably the most spicy and peppery saison I will ever encounter. Pretty straight forward, creamy as well. Not bad. Not great.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazed golden liquid. Moderate sized off-white head. Resin, pale malt, cloves, pepper, herbs and mild citrus in the scents. Flavors have a mix of a golden, weiss, and saison. Weeds at the fall harvest come to mind. Quite fitting. 4/12

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Nose huge lemon with cream, touch of lavender, rose, coriander aromatics, subtle spice with the heavy flowers and citrus. Doesn’t gush but requires an incredibly patient multi-pour, as the clear golden base supports a soapy beige head nine times bigger. Eventually laces and leaves some oily legs. Taste strongly tart combined with a double alcohol and spice burn, heat going down the throat into the chest; black pepper and its intensely pungent (its scratchiness reminds of capsaicin), floral sides with a grainy-pils middle and a little rubbery astringency on exit. Light hops are citric-herbs and soapy, light-medium bitterness, dries out, a little numbing from many factors. Medium body but much fuller with the heavy carbonation, touch chalky. A honking wallop of a saison and a little too-straightforward, but still enjoyable. [2016.01.13: 3.5]

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy honey gold color topped by a massive pillowy white head that stays around. Yeasty malt nose has bready notes. Flavor is sharp bready malt and hay. Some bitterness. Some clove and vanilla. Complex and spicy with earthy notes. Spicy hops in finish have grassy, citrus notes. I liked this a lot. Don’t understand why ratings are so low. Excellent example of a Farmhouse Ale.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Moderate hay and straw for the malt, moderate grass for the hops, soap and sweat for the yeast, with wood and faint unripe pear in the background. Head is huge, frothy, white with good lacing and is fully lasting. Flavor starts moderately to heavily acidic, then finishes moderately to heavily acidic, moderately bitter and a touch sour. Palate is completely wiped out by the overly fizzy carbonation. A fairly good smelling saison, but the flavor is a bit out of balance and the carbonation is rediculous

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle from Xroads. Poured a medium density clear rusty gold body with rising effervescence and a huge rocky bright white head. Aroma of wet bread, spice, wheat, rotting citrus, apples. Flavor is more grain with light white pepper, some lemon zest and white grape skins. Body is way to big and bubbly, average duration on the aftertaste. Meh.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Head is initially enormous, frothy/creamy, rocky, white, fully lasting. Body is hazy light to medium yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), with notes of coriander, orange peel, gum, candy sugar. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
What a relief this isn’t infected...gentle pours fill the entire glass with foam, even though it doesn’t gush out of the bottle at all when the cap is removed (Orval and Rayon Vert and that one batch of Moa Imperial Stout are that way too, but this is even more foamy than those). Meringue-like head reminds me of De Dolle Brouwers beers when they’re really on. The beer is nice otherwise, but the spices are too obnoxious for this to be a true saison (at first whiff I laughed to myself, thinking it smelled more like a witbier than anything). But based on this sample, even though this totally misses the mark for the style, it’s clean and pleasant, and I think there could be some potential with this brewer...would like to try other things from them.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Drank out of a bottle poured into a pint glass for a sampler, to compare a homebrew saison to this. Homebrew was better. Pours a nice clear yellow color with lots, lots of white head. Has a sour aroma too it. Not a verygood saison
