COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our traditional, all-natural full-bodied Hirter 1270er is a delicious interplay between ancient recipes and modern-day tastes. Its characteristic color is due to the gently roasted, caramelized brewing malt.

The water of the Hanslbauer spring and the prolonged maturation time make the Hirter 1270er a GMO-free, non-pasteurized and all-natural beer specialty.

Its delicately balanced, malty flavor, which is enhanced by the subtly integrated carbonic acid structure, is due to the use of the purest aromatic hops, paired with caramelized brewing malt. The Hirter 1270er treats beer lovers to a crisp, full-bodied burst of aroma. 11.9°

Bottle. Poured a chestnut brown colour with a red hue. Medium sized beige head. Aroma of malt, toffee, honey and hops. Roasted malt, toffee and honeyish flavours with some dried raisins also. Quite smooth with a light hop finish. Slight metallic aftertaste. Very lightly bodied and softly carbonated. Not bad for a vienna.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, leading to a dry malty and lightly bitter finish.

(33cl bottle) Clear, amber colour with a short beige foamy head. Sweet malty nose with notes of caramel, marzipan and vanilla. Sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Malt-accented taste with notes of caramel and nettle-like spice; dry and slim, slightly bitter finish with a tinge of metal. Initially a promising brew but later a bit bland (11.XI.08).

There’s something about this beer that’s akin to a refreshing drink of high mineral content water. The only comparison I can think of is water I once tried from a limestone mountain spring in Kentucky. The rest was crisp and dry with an undertone of caramel that was not too sweet or malty to disturb the overall lager balance. A nice light bodied beer similar to Lowenbrau.

Bottle I got at some supermarket in Graz. Poured a red-brown body with a small off white head that went away too fast. A strong sweet grainy, bready aroma with some light caramel promises a solid beer and it delivers. A flowery and caramelly sweetness on top a grainy chalky maltiness... woody and honeyish too. Very light aftertaste hop that stays a little in the aftertaste. A solid, nice Vienna.

50 cL bottle, courtesy for fonefan. Pours clear golden deep orange with a diminished white head. Mild roasted malty aroma with a light acidic note. Smooth roasted malt flavour, towards breadish. Again emitting a light acidity into a dry and roasted malty finish.

Bottle. Amber coloured, smaller lacy off-white head. Moderate toasty nose with a tinge of nuts. Rather light bodied, dryish light bitter-sweet flavour. A very light acidity is detectable in the dryish bitter-sweet finish. A bit boring...........

Bottle, 4.9%. Very weak buttery aroma. Clear reddish chestnut colour. Very small white head. The flavour is malty and dusty, slightly roasted and perhaps a hint of butter. The aftertaste is a little burnt, and perhaps also slightly grainy. But it is balanced by some sweetness and spicy aroma hops.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Clear amber golden with a beige head. Caramel and a little butter in the aroma. Medium body, a little burned caramel. Very subdued bitterness. 291108
