Bottle at Chris_o’s The Wolf tasting. Amber colour with a bit of syrupy malt in the mouth, but pretty decent. I enjoyed all of the Hirter beers I had which I bought from The Bohemian in Deal.

Bottle. Amber coloured, smaller lacy off-white head. Moderate toasty nose with a tinge of nuts. Rather light bodied, dryish light bitter-sweet flavour. A very light acidity is detectable in the dryish bitter-sweet finish. A bit boring...........

33cl Bottle. Appearance is dark brown color with little, off white head that quickly goes away. Aroma is fairly weak but with general sweet malts and some breadiness. Taste is also sweet with caramel, bread, and some herbal bitterness. Slightly medicinal taste comes through too. Palate is medium-bodied, slick texture, weak carbonation, and a semi-bitter finish.

MoritzF (8676) - GERMANY - MAY 31, 2009
(33cl bottle) Clear, amber colour with a short beige foamy head. Sweet malty nose with notes of caramel, marzipan and vanilla. Sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Malt-accented taste with notes of caramel and nettle-like spice; dry and slim, slightly bitter finish with a tinge of metal. Initially a promising brew but later a bit bland (11.XI.08).

Silphium (3188) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JUL 30, 2007
Light orange-brown (dull copper) body, thin off-white head. Aroma of toffee and fig, thin and acidic, even soapy, with toasty notes. Thin, lightly tart body with notes of tobacco, toast, and fig. Decent complexity for such a thin beer, but the watery body and acidity are underwhelming.
