COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Hirter Morchl beer is not just a unique brand – its production method also differs from that of other dark beers. Hirter Morchl is still brewed the “proper” way, with dark brewing malt, hops and caramel malt, which are also responsible for its dark colour. Beer lovers will appreciate its dry maltiness on the palate and pleasantly rounded, faintly bitter finish. The Hirter Morchl is another specialty beer that is allowed to mature naturally and in its own time and that is neither pasteurised nor otherwise interfered with. It is rendered non-perishable by means of a double filtering process.

Tap pours garnet brown with foamy light tan head. Smell is moderately roasted chocolate malt, pretty grainy. Taste is similar but smooth, subtle creamy palate with grainy fruity sweetness that lingers. Some apple and dark fruit come through the bright carbonation that is perfect to expand the flavor. The end is slightly grain bitter but with a caramel like sweetness that sticks to the front of my tongue. Good brew overall.

Half liter bottle. A drinkable, non-watered down dunkel with some quality roasted caramel malts through out. The aroma is hazy and light, though well balanced like the flavor notes. Some caramel malts, light coffee, roasted biscuits, and a crisp herbal grass. On the pour, a fluffy of off-white and well carbonated head, nice retention, light-medium in body, and deep ruby in color. The feel is not as carbonated as expected, and actually decently sticky and creamy and not too thin either. Minor mild-dark fruits up front, with some nutty, roasted biscuit malts and caramels coming after. Clean grassy hop mix in with the malt, but still finishes malty nutty. Not a ton of flaws here. This was solid, easy drinking.

Pours a very dark amber, perhaps brown, with a beige head. Aroma is caramel, bready, and some chocolate. Taste is lighter, and isn’t to bad. Very malty with the above noted flavors from the aroma. Kind of earthy as well. Some carbonation, but altogether smooth. Nothing of not really stands out.

A lovely deep reddish-brown color with thin to no head. Chocolate/coffee aromas. Flavor is a nice mix of sweet and bitter. Palate a bit on the thin side with a nice finish to it. Interesting beer that is definitely worth a try.

Tastes better than it smells. Sweet and malty, with a lightly dry finish. Rather uninteresting.

Aroma maltato, caramellato. Colore marrone con un bel cappello di schiuma persistente. L’assalto al palato è dominato dal malto, supportato da una dose leggera di luppolatura. Una birra caramellata e dolce come ci si aspetterebbe da una Dunkel. Un buona bevuta.

A frothy-headed, deep woods brown lager. Heft of malt well balanced like their German cousins. Maly and toasted with notes or raisin. The Europeans just do this beer better than we do.

Beige foamy head. Mahogany colour. Aroma is malty with light roasty and bready notes. Flavor is malty too with light fruity and roasty tones, ending in a malty slightly nutty finish. Light bodied.

Pretty good... Malty, slightly sweet, in both the aroma and flavor... wasn’t watered down tasting... enjoyable.
