COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Hirter Morchl beer is not just a unique brand – its production method also differs from that of other dark beers. Hirter Morchl is still brewed the “proper” way, with dark brewing malt, hops and caramel malt, which are also responsible for its dark colour. Beer lovers will appreciate its dry maltiness on the palate and pleasantly rounded, faintly bitter finish. The Hirter Morchl is another specialty beer that is allowed to mature naturally and in its own time and that is neither pasteurised nor otherwise interfered with. It is rendered non-perishable by means of a double filtering process.

This poured with a dark brown and garnet high lighted body. The head was a medium khaki and clung to the glass. Pancakes, caramel and some almonds made for a rich nose. The taste had some caramel with iced tea. There was also a hint of nice milk chocolate in the finish. A smooth and slick body help to make this a nice session brew. A pretty good dunkel.

Caramel and barnyard aroma. Brown colour, light brown frothy head, good lace. Chocolat flavors, light bitter, roasted, light sweet. Moderate full.

JPDIPSO (4956) - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 7, 2007
Clear bright light chestnut color with just a hint of rudy when held to the light. Moderate ecru colored head. Nice lace. LIghtly toasted malt aromas dominate with hints of cocoa and herbal hops. Somewhat simple, but no faults. Dark caramel sweetness that fades to a black malt bitterness. Quite nutty and lightly salty in the linger. Dry somewhat grassy finish. This is a nice summertime dark lager. Quenching and dry in the finish.

thedm (4935) - Fort Wayne, USA - JAN 28, 2008
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy with a frothy top fine to large sized light brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent typically carbonated brown colored body and a good lacing. The weak aroma was sweet and dark malt. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The thin flavor contained notes of brown malt. An OK brew just nothing special.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. Dark brown with lots of cherry red. A malty chocolate aroma. That is exactly the flavor, too. Just not a enough going on.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Week malty aroma. Tastes mild-malty, earthy-roasty. Finish fruity, like plum. Could be a bit drier. Still not bad!

Bottle. Sweet aroma of caramel, toffee, toast, and light fruitiness (red berry?). Deep ruby body with a lacing, neatly tanned head. Taste is predominately sweet (but nowhere near cloying), fruity and lightly sugary with caramelly malt and a few tones of dark, nutty toffee splashed on. Body is crisp from carbonation but very smooth and drinkable, medium-light in thickness. Aftertaste is toasty, very dry, and lightly hoppy. Pretty nice, a very good session.

Clear deep nutty brown color with a big fine tan head. Good lacing. Caramel malty and mild fruity aroma. Medium + body. Tad sweet and an ok bitterness. Average carbonation. Balanced fine deep malty, toffee and some fruity notes in the flavor. Quite decent dunkel! Tasty and easy drinkable.
