Growler fill from 4 Sons on Indian School. Deep dark pour with a thin off white head. Very much as promised with a full vanilla and cherry aroma. Sweet cherry flavor and light roasted malt flavor make this taste creamy like a desert unto itself. It doesn't have much of a thick or lingering mouthfeel though so unlike many fruit beers, especially dark ones, this one is easy to finish more than a glass of. Definitely worth a try. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ Historic Brewing. Dark brown, nearly black in color with a khaki head. Super power file vanilla and maple aromas. Mostly vanilla, though. A nice roasted malt note, baked cherry, and cocoa. Flavor is quite sweet, not surprising given all the vanilla. Hints of maple and baked fruit. Some chocolate syrup, roast, and coffee.

On draft at Spokes on Southern. Sweet cherry pie filling and syrupy dark malt aromas dominate the subdued nose with a hint of coffee. Pours a slightly murky dark reddish-brown. The taste is nicely rich (but not overpowering) with moderate cherries, malted chocolate, smooth vanilla extract, and a light light-roasted coffee touch with a brief roasty bitterness to provide some balance. It reminds me a bit of a cherry vanilla-chocolate Coca-Cola without the overt cloying sweetness. The palate is properly to style: medium body with a slightly slick texture. A good daily-drinker porter with a balanced blend of fruit and maltiness. Well done, Historic!

Dark brown, almost black pour with creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, vanilla, cherries and chocolate. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, cherries and vanilla. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel, lower carbonation, delicious!

Anytime you see fruit or spices in the name of a porter, you get a little nervous -- will they overdo it? Luckily, this one was awfully well done, the cherries giving just a bit of sweet/sour tang, the vanilla used sparingly, and the base porter having just enough roasty depth to bring things together with the flavor adjuncts. Honestly didn’t expect to enjoy this one as much as I did.

Growler thanks to Ilya! Pours a near clear deep amber brown with a taupe head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of chocolate with dark grains and backing vanilla. Flavor has much lighter chocolate, mainly slightly dark grains, cherry and vanilla.

Arizona beer rating #600. And this one is quite tasty indeed! Pours a nice brown color with a tan head. The flavor? Just what it promises. The vanilla and chocolate are more prominent than the cherry, but all three work incredibly well together. A truly nice beer from a really great brewery.

Sampled @ AZ Strong Beer Fest. Mag agony pour with a small latte head. Baker’s chocolate, vanilla, touch of bitter chocolate and hint of tart cherries. Medium mouthfeel. Solid beer.

On tap at OHSO, dark brown, nearly black pour with a small off-white head. Vanilla aroma with a faint amount of cherry. Nice creamy vanilla porter. Light cherry which is a good thing. Pretty enjoyable.
