3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at home. Has a slightly cloudy dark straw colour with a medium, creamy, off-white head. Aroma of citrus, Belgian yeast, spices and banana. The flavour is similar but with tones of hay, sweet malt, cloudberries and hops. Slick mouth feel, and has a light bitterness. An interesting, spicy and fresh pale lager. A little odd taste though.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. A hazy golden beer with a dense finger thick off-white head leaving curtains. Rather meaty aroma, with banana, cloves, caramel, some alcohol and a piney touch. Full body and a pleasant carbonation level. Sort of warming, which surprises me considering the alcohol level. Meaty flavor too, with the same banana, cloves, caramel and piney cones found in the aroma. Lasting finish. Well, it’s not bad in any way, but it’s too meaty for me. 140430

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Shared 550 ml bottle from Vinmonopolet, ABV is 6.5%. The bottle is full of floaties, but not visible in the glass. Golden colour, the aroma is a little weird, but hard to describe. Hints of sea water and also some dill (Sorachi Ace). The flavour has also hints of dill and laurel leaves, but lacks the fresh lemongrass notes.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a clear dark gold but just a tiny bit of lacing and not really any head at all.
The Sorachi Ace hops are quite powerful in the aroma and there is also a slight earthy/oaky character. I’m assuming this is from the hops as well. Pretty intersting.
The flavor has a lot more complexity than I was expecting. That same dank/citrus hop note along with a stronger note of oak and vanilla; almost like this was wood aged. Not clean at all like a pilsner but more like an aged ale. Moderate bitterness and a pretty clean finish.
Overall, this is a very intersting beer. The wood/vanilla notes are unique and I love Sorachi Ace hops. A different, but well put together beer.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured from a 550 ml bottle. It’s an orange colored clear brew with a small white head and no real lacing. Aroma is strangely smokey and tropical fruits. Taste is quite sweet, too sweet for my taste, but with nice tropical fruits and and interesting complexity. Sticky mouthfeel. Good carbonation. Sweet, slightly hoppy finish. Less interesting toward the bottom of the glass, and rather tired of it before the glass is empty. Enjoyed as probably my last beer in Narita, Japan.
