3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Premier Gourmet. Pours a glossy amber; full sheet of off-white head. doughy nose; mellow bready yeast with softly sweet, honey-like malt aromas. Flavors bring together much of the same; fairly bready/doughy, fairly sweet as well, but surprisingly it’s rather a fresh tasting examples of those attributes; which I usually see on older, flabbier beers...here it actually comes together quite well. Alcohol is strikingly deceiving..body is solid, it doesnt get to the point of syrupy though it is indeed pretty sweet. Pretty decent, almost has some characteristics of some trappist-made dubbels; bready malts, even maybe some raisin, etc....in any event, if i was left with this mistake, I’d bottle it too, it’s still a well made beer.

Draught at CBM event. Real Ale version. Rich sour plum and cherry with a sweet tart edge, pretty tasty and balanced stuff, could have done with a bit of carbonation maybe.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Thanks, J! What an interesting and unexpected treat. Pours a murky dark brown with a thin light tan head that fades quickly. Mild sweet nose, biscuity, crackery, caramelly, soft roasted nuts. Creamy thick body with soft carb. Nutty, caramelly, sesame seeds, nougatty mid palate. Mild softly sweet finish.

33 cl East West Sushi. Kommer bara ihåg att denna öl var väldigt smaklös och en stor besvikelse.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
550 ml to go bottle purchased at Coffee District Beer and Wine Bar in Delray Beach, Florida. The pour is haze copper brown golden with a 1/4 inch lasting tan head. The aroma is big malty sweet and yeast fruit, with some vanilla showing as the beer warmed. The taste is fruit lactic yeast dominant up front, than sweet toffee malt behind. The house Hitachino yeast notes are present as well. Nice depth of character - tannic. The palate is medium to heavy bodied soft carbonation, and a lingering integrated alcohol in the finish. The lactic fruit and vanilla sweetness linger. Unique flavors.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep slightly rustic copper and garnet under a spotty white head which lingers mostly full with some random arcs of lace decorating my glass at whim.
Gentle sour tropical fruits with fleshy sweetness coming in the back. Freshly baked moist white breads underneath, as if to sop up all the above juices. Apricots, peaches, and kumquats. Candied pineapple. Intriguing rice milk esters in the very back.
Faint rice milk/rice cake esters in the back. Overall milder than expected from the initial impressions its nose gave. Light pineapple, apricot, peaches, and cantaloupes – more juice than flesh or skins. Soft leather notes in the back reminiscent of the softest brushed golden leather possible. Tartness along the sides. Gentle dries my mouth and brings me back for more.
An intriguing beer with a truly heart-wrenching story behind it that reaffirms the strength of humanity that out of destruction shall come something new and wonderful. Honestly, I enjoyed Hitachino’s 3 Day Beer and would liken it to a sessionable wild ale with a tropical kiss. Unique and never again. I consider myself lucky to have tried and shared this beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Poured an amber color with an averaged sized tan head. Interesting aroma - rotted fruitiness, ginger, spices, tart cherries, caramel, and yeast. Tastes of the same with a lighter tart finish. Interesting. This one grew on me more and more as I drank it ...

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cooked pineapple, ham, caramel, and farmhouse aromas. Murky, light brown, with little head. Dry, earthy, nutty, and a little sour. Light-medium body, average carbonation, and with an earthy finish. It’s hard to say exactly where I’d categorize this beer, but very interesting.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Medium amber, nice head, clear. Somewhat sour aroma, faint cherry. Flavor is caramel accented malts, rich, and moves into a fruity and touch sour finish. Really interesting. Liked this.
