Bomber at Tria. Served in a tulip glass. Poured murky brown with a little tan head. Aroma was a little fruit, sour, hay, vinegar. Slightly fruity up front with a hint of sourness but finishes smooth caramel like a werther’s original. Thick mouthfeel with a lot going on.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Oakes (10202) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 19, 2012
Murky amber-brown. Not much head. Has a sweet-tart aroma with an understated , indistinct character. Slight tartness and as a murky taste. Some alcohol. This never really goes anywhere. It was a batch gone wrong, and should have been dumped. Instead, they slapped a label on it and ripped off their loyal fans. Embarrassing, and I have lost respect for Kiuchi Brewery for doing this.

Hello earthquake beer. Bottle from Knightly. Unattractive burnt umber crayon color, hazy with a tan film. Cardboard, dried figs, charossis (passover apple-raisin-honey). Thin and soft. Honey permeates the palate--wildflower infused with orange blossom. Tartness: natural, from fruit, pomegranate, bitters, finishing with overripe mamey. Peculiar.

Sampled at WTWBA 2012, Brooklyn. The aroma is fruit, bread, sour, cardboard, odd. The appearance is clear amber, white head. The flavor is sour, some off flavors, fruit, plastic. The finish is like the flavor, sour and fruit, and some band-aids. Medium in body, slightly thick, oily. Glad I got to try this. Weird, but good overall.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jcweaver (440) - VA Beach, Virginia, USA - MAY 12, 2012
Bottle. Pours cloudy amber with a white head. Bready aroma with some hay and a light sweetness. Bready and slightly funky flavor with notes of yeast and ginger. A light tartness also. More ginger and some light hop notes in the finish. Unusual but quite tasty.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Chipalsa (709) - Florida, USA - MAY 11, 2012
Bottle
Appearance - Cloudy, golden, creamy head
Aroma - Rice vinegar, stale water, dill weed
Taste - Pineapple, oregano, yeast, hops
Thanks to OmegaX for this beer with an interesting story to tell. The aroma is perfectly delicate and sweet for a Belgian style brew. With a clean and dry finish, it is very drinkable at 8%. Not bad at all.

A unique beer. Belgian yeast and some lager qualities in the nose with grainy notes/hay. Light caramel? Taste is dirty with some yeast, spices, citrus, some light hops, and ginger. Hmmm...not sure what to make of this one. I’m glad I was able to try it though. Cheers!

Bottle. Pours a cloudy dirty brown with a thick white head. Aroma of sweet melon, coriander, clove, pepper, citrus. Overall it is sweet fruits combining with spices. Flavor of sweet malt followed by fruits and the spices and in the finish. Some mustiness and yogurt flavor, but no real "sour" notes. It is a good beer, a touch strong, with an interesting story.

Bottle that I opened as my last beer of the night back at the hotel at TAPNY after playing some bocce. Pours a hazed ruby amber with a thin white head. Soft and sweet, caramel and musk on the nose. Sweet and musky, warm funky musk. Lots of musky caramel. Long warm yeast, soft caramel. A bit more musk on the finish. Very interesting beer.
