Taste is malt caramel with fruity citrusy zest orange & tangerine, plus some spicy bitterness. Slightly oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, orange rind fruity & bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I am surprised and delighted to have found this in my home city of Christchurch (NZ). I carefully poured this beer into the glass finding an amber body with masses of carbonation and a rocky white head that left good lace down the side of the glass. The aroma was somewhat muted, but offered some stewed apricot and peaches. The flavour was much more forthright with those aromas present with some good herbal hoppiness that offered a goodly bite that prolonged the enjoyment of this beer. A tasty little number and one I’m sure I’ll be back for.

Light on hops but heavy on citrus with fair balance in the malts. Drinkable but not much to write about.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Backog rating. 33cl bottle at the Chriso’s May tasting, London. It pours a slightly hazy amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is sweet and malty, with notes of dried leaves, caramel, biscuit, citrus. Taste is sweet with notes of brown sugar, caramel, orange zest and dried leaves. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, decent IPA

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Keg at Drink Baar, 20141228) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was medium sized, dense, white and it lasted long. Aroma had citricness, orange and grass. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, orange juice, sweetness, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity, hoppy and bitter. An imperial radler, what a weird idea. Not bad after all.

Light haze on this rich gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry. Dry pale malts, whisper of lactose. A nice candy tangerine - orange and then a whisper of piney hops. Light semi dry finish brings a touch of raw malts. Can see why this is classified as a fruit beer, needs to be a lot hoppier. Drinkable though.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Fruity aroma with massive head. Laid back body with an interesting ’twist’ (orange peel). A nicely balanced brew.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Hazy dull amber with decent near white head. Definitely fruity. Like fake orange candy syrup. Not like a beer. Sweet up front and bitter orange peel on the finish. Not hoppy at all. Massive carbonation. Seems a little bretty actually. Almost sour/tart.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 04/2015
Aroma is rather sweet and heavy with caramel, some resiny hops and orange. Also some citrus. Flavour has grapefruit, fruity hops, resiny tones and caramel. Unusual IPA, but I seem to enjoy this. Heavy but still refreshing and not overwhelmingly sweet.
