From a bottle. Pours very dark brown with a light brown creamy head. Tastes like coffee and cocoa, but not an overpowering flavor. Very smooth. Smells like espresso and nutmeg. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottle. Pours black as night with fine, aromatic tan head. Huge coffee and dark chocolate nose. Got some vanilla and fruit as well. Palate thick as, could have eaten it with a spoon. Fantastic stuff, will have to get this more often.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jmgreenuk (1278) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAR 23, 2013
Bottle at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a dark mahogany with a long lasting frothy tan head and bags of lace. The aroma is dry and peaty with lots of malt. The flavour is rich and bitter with bags of liqourice and roasted coffee. It’s rather hoppy too and a little fruity and spicy on the palate. It’s quite a departure from a standard Espresso Stout and very refreshing and drinkable.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 CitrusP (47) - Newcastle, AUSTRALIA - MAR 17, 2013
Pours deepest black with a finger of creamy looking brown head. Coffee, vanilla and liquorice in the aroma. Coffee, vanilla and bitter chocolate in the flavour. Finishes slightly tart, reminiscent of a coffee aftertaste again mixed with more vanilla. The vanilla flavour is just lovely and natural in this one. Full, thick and coating mouthfeel while remaining quite drinkable. Very nice.

Very strong coffee nose and taste. If you like coffee then you will love this. Roasted malts flavor but a dry after taste. Not bad but ones enough.

Uploading old ratings that were missing comments. Really nice stout with just enough espresso punch to cut through the sweetness.

Very good. Dark brown with tan head. Aroma of licorice and espresso. Tastes the same with a sweet vanilla start and nicely balanced bitter finish.

I want to love this beer. It might be the best beer I’ve had from Asia. That said, there is almost no aroma to speak of, and it very dry. The espresso is dominant, with few other flavors, making for a bit of a simple beer. Short flavor profile, with some currants on the back end.
