Caramel, roasted, black and chocolate malts provide an explosion of coffee like flavors. The strong espresso character comes from the addition of espresso beans to the boil. Notes of vanilla, dark fruit , cocao and chocolate. The very unusual character of Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout stems from the fact that Kiuchi Brewery is using the recipe of a Russian Imperial Stout as base. Pitch black color, big brown head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted bitterness, black currants, dark fruits.

33 cl. bottle at Kung Fu II Izakaya Bar, Copenhagen. Near black colour with a creamy, tanned head. Roasted aroma with caramel, chocolate, coffee, red berries, herbal hops bitterness. Espresso beans is clearly present. Taste is bitter. Full body with a creamy, velvet like texture. Soft carbonation. Finishes dry and bitter-roasted. Excellent Stout, good pairing with the rich, fried meat.

Pours a rich dark black color with a nice ephemeral java head. Nose is rich malt, roasted dark espresso with some chocolate notes. Taste is sweet chocolate with a rich mocha Java flavor as well. Very smooth, velvety and drinkable. Finishes on the same tasting notes, finish is dry, sweet and abrupt. Nice ! Quaff Score 8 / 10

Pours a nice dark brown color. Not as dark as some espresso stouts, but dark enough to look delicious. The head is a nice color as well. As one might expect, that aroma has a good coffee component, along with chocolate and buttery caramel. The beer is rich in the mouth with lots of coffee flavor mixed with dark chocolate. The carbonation is a bit much for this beer, but I think that will get better if the beer sits in the glass for a while. The aftertaste is not as rich as a would like, but this is a very solid beer. An odd one to find in Montana, but one of the better stouts I have had in Montana to be honest.

Bottle 330ml. Dark brown color with small dark brown head. Sweet and pleasant stout smell with strong roasted coffee aroma notes. Light sweet in taste, and very strong and heavy espresso coffee aftertaste.

Bottled. As the name says, the beer smells like coffee and roasted caramel. Color is dark brown, visually boozy with light brown slight foam. Taste is bitter on tongue. Mouth feel is creamy and thick, medium heavy body.

Pretty good stout although doesn't have a lot on the finish but still pleasing. The espresso masks the alcohol pretty well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It pours black with a thick, foamy dark brown head. It has chocolate, roasted, coffee, a whiff of fruit and vanilla. It has a creamy, but lively texture due to carbonation. There is espresso flavors, with cocoa, coffee, a bit of dark fruit, and roasted malts with a bitter pack of a finish.
