Caramel, roasted, black and chocolate malts provide an explosion of coffee like flavors. The strong espresso character comes from the addition of espresso beans to the boil. Notes of vanilla, dark fruit , cocao and chocolate. The very unusual character of Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout stems from the fact that Kiuchi Brewery is using the recipe of a Russian Imperial Stout as base. Pitch black color, big brown head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted bitterness, black currants, dark fruits.

A wispy stout like Porterhouse would brew; espresso, cocoa and iced milk coffee on the (dry) finish; classy, imperial-esque stuff.

Semmoistahan tämä on. Kovasti on kahvia. Suutuntuma on kyllä mukava. Hiilihappoa rutkasti. Hyvä valinta, mutta synkempään talveen.

Clear black with small tan, quite big carbonation. Aroma: heavy roasted coffee. Taste: after smelling i thought it would be dominated by coffe, but it’s nicely balanced. There’s also some roastiness and cocoa. Not to dry, oily texture, quite drinkable. I thougt it’s regular stout, but (according to bjcp guidline) it’s in upper limit of fes.

0.33 l bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. Dark brown colour with a tan head. Aroma is malty. Taste has oily malts and some tartness. This is very well balanced - not just plain sweet or dry. I like tha fact they didn’t use roasted barley but instead roasted malts.
