COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Caramel, roasted, black and chocolate malts provide an explosion of coffee like flavors. The strong espresso character comes from the addition of espresso beans to the boil. Notes of vanilla, dark fruit , cocao and chocolate. The very unusual character of Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout stems from the fact that Kiuchi Brewery is using the recipe of a Russian Imperial Stout as base. Pitch black color, big brown head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted bitterness, black currants, dark fruits.

From 12 oz bottle to snifter. Pour is a nice dark dark brown, nearly black with a thick brown head. Nose is a little more faint than I had hoped, nonetheless you have chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, dark fruits. Medium heavy body, kind of a surprise at first since you expect such a huge and heavy beer but this is nicely balanced. Super silky mouth feel, finishes nice and crisp on the palate. Awesome beer, really like the complexity with the espresso.

Barwa ciemno brunatna, prawie czarna.

Pitch black color, nice & beige head. Sweet aroma, lot of chocolate, roastness, dark bread, vanilla, cocoa. Taste is very good balanced, mix of sourness, roastness and sweetness. Some fruits, more coffee then aroma and dark chocolate.

Black beer, tanned creamy head with minimal lacing. Aroma: coffe, dark chocolate, hint of licorish-nutty thing, pretty good and intence. Taste: light sweet, very light sour, medium roasted bitter. Flavours of dark chocolate, coffe, licorish-nutty thing again. Palate: medium body, low saturation, long finish with dark chocolate and coffe notes. Overall: Very nice beer.

Asahiya hooked my wife and I up with this Valentine’s Label version of their Espresso Stout 7% which is the highest rated Japanese Brew. It pours a dark black with a lovely rusty tan head. A creamy ground espresso bean aroma entices. Fairly full bodied with a somewhat dry finish. The taste is espresso with a light sweetness then bitter dark chocolate and roastiness. Very solid stuff.
