Caramel, roasted, black and chocolate malts provide an explosion of coffee like flavors. The strong espresso character comes from the addition of espresso beans to the boil. Notes of vanilla, dark fruit , cocao and chocolate. The very unusual character of Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout stems from the fact that Kiuchi Brewery is using the recipe of a Russian Imperial Stout as base. Pitch black color, big brown head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted bitterness, black currants, dark fruits.

O café se destaca nessa stout. Escura, boa formação de creme. Também nota-se chocolate no aroma e no sabor. Bela surpresa do Japão. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2014 This is the second bottle of this I have had and I have to say that this is one of my favourite stouts by far! It pours a thick oily like black with a big tan brown head. The smell is strong coffee mingled with dark chocolate, sweet malt (reminds me of the soft drink Supermalt) and traces of tiramisu desert along with some roasted bitterness and dark fruits like blackcurrant. The taste is very much black espresso coffee and dark chocolate mainly with slight vanilla notes which are nicely balanced with a roasted malt bitterness and it’s not quite as sweet as you are expecting from the smell. Wonderful! It feels oily and cloying in the mouth with very minimal carbonation. The finish is dry and leaves a lovely lingering bitterness still with the above mentioned flavours. Absolutely wonderful!

The aroma blends chocolate malts, caramel malts, coffee, and vanilla, and the appearance combines an opaque black color with a small light tan head. The taste is mildly bitter, mildly umami, and slightly sweet, and the palate combines an oily texture, medium body, soft carbonation, and a medium-length malty and coffee-esque finish.

Ótima imperial Stout japonesa. Cor escura, com creme bege de media formação e aroma lembrando chocolate amargo, intenso. Na boca, bom corpo, com notas do malte torrado se sobressaindo, com amargor bem equilibrado. Final longo e aquecido. Ótima breja! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The aroma is a sweet roasted malt and coffee. Strangely the sweetness isn’t in the taste. Instead you get a dark roasty malt with a big coffee flavor. Long finish with a little chocolate. Very easy drinking. This is a great beer.

average frothy light brown head. good lacing. mostly diminishing. flat thick black body. aroma: light malty, milk chocolate, mild coffee, wood, alcohol. if: light sweet moderate bitter. ff: light sweet heavy bitter; long duration. palate: light medium body, watery texture, medium carbonation, metallic finish. Nota: 80 s

Opaque black color, good beige-brown head. Aroma of coffee beans. Medium-bodied. Coffee, coffee beans, some dark-chocolate. A bit light palate for this ABV and this kind of beer. Ok coffee bean beer.
