Jul 21, 2009 Bottle. Poured black with a brown head. Aroma consisted of alcohol and coffee notes, quite acidic. Flavor is nice and full of dark espresso notes which leads to a quite acidic beer. Quite one note but I still enjoyed it.

Jul 10, 2009 Opens with notes of espresso, chocolate and a bit of spice. Pours a deep black, opaque. Large bubbles with high carbonation. Deep mahogany head with little retention. Opens with caramel and coffee. Sweet with balanced bitterness in the middle and a long finish that sticks to the palate. Mouthfeel is medium high thanks to the carbonation keeping it sprightly. This is an excellent blend of espresso and beer. The balance is great and doesn’t give you that coffee overkill! The sweetness keeps it tasty and makes you crave another drink.

Jul 10, 2009 brown/black pour, mocha notes compliment the thick espresso taste, there was a grittiness I wasn’t expecting, but overall, strong stout with heavy malts and a borderline bitter finish. only for coffee stout lovers.

Jul 7, 2009 4 oz. pour at Seattle International Beer Festival. Dark black with 1/2 inch thick brown foamy head. Sweet aroma. Very thin with mild coffee taste. Grainy taste that is kind of funky. Not that great. Should have only been one ticket.

Jul 4, 2009 4 oz. taster at Seattle IBF. Pours black with a brown head. Aroma is purely fruits, roast, and alot of graininess. Flavor is hoppier than expected, roasty coffee, pretty dry. Mouthfeel is a little too thin, medium bodied with lots of carbonation.
