COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Caramel, roasted, black and chocolate malts provide an explosion of coffee like flavors. The strong espresso character comes from the addition of espresso beans to the boil. Notes of vanilla, dark fruit , cocao and chocolate. The very unusual character of Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout stems from the fact that Kiuchi Brewery is using the recipe of a Russian Imperial Stout as base. Pitch black color, big brown head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted bitterness, black currants, dark fruits.

The aroma is a sweet roasted malt and coffee. Strangely the sweetness isn’t in the taste. Instead you get a dark roasty malt with a big coffee flavor. Long finish with a little chocolate. Very easy drinking. This is a great beer.

Bottle 330ml. Dark brown color with small dark brown head. Sweet and pleasant stout smell with strong roasted coffee aroma notes. Light sweet in taste, and very strong and heavy espresso coffee aftertaste.

Bottled. As the name says, the beer smells like coffee and roasted caramel. Color is dark brown, visually boozy with light brown slight foam. Taste is bitter on tongue. Mouth feel is creamy and thick, medium heavy body.

Pretty good stout although doesn't have a lot on the finish but still pleasing. The espresso masks the alcohol pretty well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It pours black with a thick, foamy dark brown head. It has chocolate, roasted, coffee, a whiff of fruit and vanilla. It has a creamy, but lively texture due to carbonation. There is espresso flavors, with cocoa, coffee, a bit of dark fruit, and roasted malts with a bitter pack of a finish.

Bottle at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Low fluffy light brown lasting head. Pitch black body. Roasted malt coffee caramel aroma and flavor with a fair amount of hops bitterness, well balanced with just the right level of alcohol. Low carbonation, long finish.

0,33 l bottle from drinks-of-the-world.de, 7.0% abv, best before 9/2015. Clear, dark brown to black with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, brown head. Intense aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and licorice with hints of plums. Pleasant taste of roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, a bit of licorice and plums. Medium long, slightly bitter finish with lots of coffee. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not the biggest coffee fan, but the slight fruitiness makes this a very tasty beer. Still overrated in my opinion.

Wie man es halt von einem Stout mit Espresso erwartet. Etwas Milch, dazu ein wenig Holz, Weizen und ein guter Schuss Kaffee nebst Roestmalzen. Bitterkeit moderat, durchaus sueffig. Fuer ein dunkles Bier nicht schlecht.
