Caramel, roasted, black and chocolate malts provide an explosion of coffee like flavors. The strong espresso character comes from the addition of espresso beans to the boil. Notes of vanilla, dark fruit , cocao and chocolate. The very unusual character of Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout stems from the fact that Kiuchi Brewery is using the recipe of a Russian Imperial Stout as base. Pitch black color, big brown head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted bitterness, black currants, dark fruits.

Haven’t rated a beer in years, but this one really inspired me. Such a richly balanced combination of coffee and chocolate. Beautiful full palate with gentle carbonation, carries these flavours so nicely. This is one lovely beer.

Wie man es halt von einem Stout mit Espresso erwartet. Etwas Milch, dazu ein wenig Holz, Weizen und ein guter Schuss Kaffee nebst Roestmalzen. Bitterkeit moderat, durchaus sueffig. Fuer ein dunkles Bier nicht schlecht.

Black with creamy beige head. Roasted, fruity aroma with sweet coffee and milk chocolate. Flavour is similar with coffee slightly more pronounced. Creamy and dry mouthfeel. Nice.

0,33 l bottle from drinks-of-the-world.de, 7.0% abv, best before 9/2015. Clear, dark brown to black with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, brown head. Intense aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and licorice with hints of plums. Pleasant taste of roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, a bit of licorice and plums. Medium long, slightly bitter finish with lots of coffee. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not the biggest coffee fan, but the slight fruitiness makes this a very tasty beer. Still overrated in my opinion.

Bottle at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Low fluffy light brown lasting head. Pitch black body. Roasted malt coffee caramel aroma and flavor with a fair amount of hops bitterness, well balanced with just the right level of alcohol. Low carbonation, long finish.

Dark almost black with mocha-colored head. Aroma slightly sweet, coffee and chocolate. Taste like aroma with fruity tones in between. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The beer has got a deep black colour with a small head and smooth body. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Taste of dark chocolate, coffee beans, espresso, malt, roast and dark fruits. Roasty coffee finish. Nice one.

33cl bottle at Tuulelohe (Tallinn Airport). Pours close to pitch black with a modest, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, roasted coffee, chocolate, dark fruits and hints of spices. Sweet, flavourful and desserty. Lovely coffee stout, well balanced and tasty. Quite delicious!
