Shared 24.3 oz. bottle poured to snifters, displaying a coppery orange color, with a modest layer of soft white head foam, and spots of lacing. The nose was cherry & berry, with a touch of currant, and subtle yeast. The taste followed with some tartness, and a touch of sweetness, with tannic astringency & alcohol warmth that lingered together into the finish. More of a fruity, British style IPA with some cask influence to the bitterness. I liked it.

Bottle from Hasegawa. Poured into an English tulip pint. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a modest white head that lingers throughout. Nose is all perfumey hops and wet cedar with some caramel malt as well. Taste is quite similar with a bit of fruit: plum, peach and apple stand out. Finish is woody and dry with a hint of white pepper. The cedar flavor is very obvious is taste and aroma. Very unique IPA.

bottle from el corte ingles mallorca. clear dark orange, large smooth fine offwhite head. aroma of stale hops, sweet flowery hops and lots of malts. there is a bitter note that just might be from the cedar cellaring. Flavor is very pleasing, a malty brew with sweet flowery notes, quite full and complex, but too sweet for me.

Orange amber colour, with a head that fades soon, leaving some lace. Smell of wood, strong alcohol (I guess it’s the barrels used to brew sake that you read in the deScription. Caramels, malt, spices. Medium body, sticky palate and rough in your throat. Taste of caramel, malts alcohol, some hot spice (something like chili). Far better than I expected.

Pours a hazy amber with little head. Caramel malt and wood on the nose. Flavours bring caramel malts, alcohol, bitterness, wood, and herbal hops which lead into a dry, short finish.

A mid amber orange coloured beer with a frothy off white head. A rich malt and wood aroma, caramel and spice, plus toffee apple and hazelnut. Dry and fizzy mouthfeel. The taste starts off with a dry malt and wood combination, caramel hazelnut and spice again, but a little more earthy. A dried raisiny fruit flavour appears next, giving a little more sweetness, but this is soon overtaken but a tart and refreshing appley type taste. The finish is tart and appley with a lingering background of malt and wood.

Old rating. Remember it being more sweet and woody then having much hop characteristics. Drinkable enough though.

Draft at the Birch. Clear copper color with a white ring. Very light aroma of not much honestly. Flavor is lightly sweet and caramely with a hint of hops. Meh.

4/18/15 from 12 oz bottle. Hazy amber color with hardly any head. Slight sweet fruity aroma without hops smell. Tastes a bit like a hefe without the bubblegum banana flavors. Very drinkable but not all that special. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
