Japanese IPA in celebration of Hatsune Miku’s 5th anniversary. Wet hops and biscuit on the nose. Pale gold with small foam. Fantastic bitter hop bite upfront falling into a genius sweet caramel and biscuit malt. Light bodied with a bit of booze in the back of the palate. Overall, this is not your average IPA. This is a genius creation from Japan. Very well done and unique. A must have. A+ rating.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Doghair (122) - Illinois, USA - AUG 20, 2012
Poured from a 24 into a Sam Adams glass. Dark yellow with lots of particulate floating around. Huge head that slowly fades to a heavy film. When I first poured it I got a huge whiff of hops but strangely it’s not there on the first taste. Virtually no hop taste. Malty with bitterness a little pepper but the hops is subdued. After it warms a little I get some cedar and rosemary scent. Also a little more cedar in the taste. Unusual beer.

A-- Poured a hazy orange amber color. One finger off white head, on swirling got two fingers. Head slowly dies off leaving a solid layer of film and a good solid ring of lacing.
S-- Musty dirty sort of smell. Get some cedar mixed with earthy grape and orange. Wood really carries this.
T-- Past its prime orange and pine. Get a lot of wood as well. Still pretty workable.
M-- Rich, thick and earthy. Undertones of mandarin orange and pine. Finishes dry and crisp.
O-- Probably really good fresh. Still pretty good for being a bit old. Has held up pretty well.
