DATE TASTED: December 31, 2015... GLASSWARE: Corsendonk tulip...OCCASION: three hours to the New Year and the boys are still going strong... APPEARANCE: a flourishing, bubbly amber orange body that shows opaquely... head is nearly two fingers’ worth of bubbly, creaminess; fingers outstretch from its waves... leaves artistic smears in its sky... AROMA: light, airy hops that evoke peach, mango and grapefruit--almost tropical... malts are woody, slightly musky, and pungent--an earthy, mellow IPA... PALATE: medium-bodied, easy-drinking, and textured--provides a pleasant but nuanced drink.. TASTE: soft honeysuckle and lilac make for a light, floral start; the lemon, mango and damp yeasts make for a varied experience... the malts are balanced, giving off a bit of earthy, wooden notes, old and familiar, with some vegetable notes.. OVERALL: having passed many of these bottles through the decades, this particular one found its way into a break pack sampler...a worthwhile throwback to the day when IPA meant long ship travel, not East Coast/West Coast hop nuances...subtle in its strength and reasonable in its memorable flavor, this is a beer worth seeking out again...

Dank fruit flavor. Bitter and hoppy. Mostly pleasant - wasn't expecting to like it. Draft at fish and beer in Hong Kong.

Ruby, effervescent, with a generous head. Light caramel aroma. Light butterscotch notes. Nice and pleasant but not the most imaginative.

Bottle. Bitter and feasty as an IPA, pleasant sweetness. Rather underwhelming aroma, though.

Butelka bączek 0,33l Kolor mętnawy, złoty, piana nikła szybko znika.Aromat drożdżowo-słodowy z karmelem. Smak słodki z sosnowymi posmakami, niezbyt przyjemny.Alkohol wyczuwalny, goryczka pozostaje na podniebieniu. Takie sobie piwo.

Bottle 330ml. Pours unclear gold amber with a small white head that lingers nicely. Nose is hops and cedar with some caramel malt as well. Full bodied with a decent carbonation. Taste is quite similar with the nose with addition of peach and apple, quite bitter. Aftertaste is woody and dry with a bitter ending. The cedar flavor is a pleasent addition to this unique ipa! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Live Rating of an 11.2 oz bottle at home, cooled in the fridge for an hour, poured into a tulip. Aroma of cold tea and training shoe. Hazy brown with a creamy off-white head. Head leaves good lacing. Quite malty for an IPA: predominant flavours are caramel, nuts and cereal. Slick mouthfeel, mild carbonation, bitter finish. Nice beer, but aroma hinted at something a bit more complex than the beer delivered.
