3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Poured a light amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light bitter notes with green hops notes. Taste is not as bitter as expected though hops are clearly noticeable with a nice caramel malt backbone and some light cedar notes rounding things out. Body is slightly below average with good carbonation. Different interpretation of the style with cedar rounding things out nicely.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle from 1420. Pours murky orange, with nice off white head, dense and creamy. Some head retention, poor lacing. Nose is caramel, malty, some roasty and spicy aromas. Medium body, silky texture, average carbonation. Taste is warm, caramel, spicy, some buttery and toffee-roasty notes, dry ones (sake i think). Smooth, complex, well balanced, peculiar and enjoyable. Warm and hot aftertaste. Nice one.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy copper with a large head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is fruity and yeasty. Much sweeter than I expected, perhaps a bit much so. Caramel, earth, wood, citrus, peach. Almost enough hoppy bitterness at the end to balance the sweetness, but not quite. Abv is pretty well hidden. Pretty good.

Bottle at Kimono at the Swan Hotel Disney. Tulip. Pours a hazy golden amber with a two finger fast disappearing head. Some lacing. Aroma of cedar, bread, grass. The taste gives a hint if cedar, light hops, light citrus, and grass. Finish is cedar. Mild body, well carbonated. Clean finish. Decent.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle poured into pint glass. Coppery amber colour, quite hazy, thick, creamy off white head. A lot of woody aroma and flavour, apparently cedar (note taken). Hop seems masked by the wood. Very sweet open. Nice, unlike any IPA I’ve had before.

Pours a darkish amber. A competently hoppy ale with some sweetness in there to balance it out. Good body. One of the more reliable Japanese ales and now more widely available in England through various off licences and online beer sellers.
