3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20Draft. Dark ruby with no head. Aroma is heavy on the coriander. Taste is cherries and wheat. The other spices are a little subdued. Nice luxurious palate. Not terrible but sort of a strange combination of elements.

On tap at Black Bottle Brewery. Amber and clear with a white head. The aroma is bready malts, citrus fruit, sweet spices, and light vanilla. Similar flavor with light cinnamon and wheat malts. Medium bodied and smooth feel that hides the alcohol. Not too bad Japan.

330ml bottle: 2011 version. This one pours a hazy amber color. There was almost no head on it, and what was there was off-white. This one has a really nice nose. Definitely spicy, with coriander at the top of the list. A bit peppery too. The taste very good. Peppery and coriander notes on top of a malty brew. There is a slight tartness and bitterness to the taste. Definitely some fruity notes, and very complex. A really nice brew.

The first thing I noticed about this beer was the aroma. Notes of vanilla, orange peel, and cinnamon. It smells amazing. The taste is a bit muted compared to the aroma but still impressive. Really complex, respectable brew. So much going on, definitely worth a try.

Bottle labeled Commemorative Ale. Pours like an opaque orange barley wine with no head. Lemon citrus, nutmeg,cinnamon, vanilla, herbal maltness on the nose. Dank hops, some stale malt characterics, vanilla sweetness, bread, loads of citrus as well. Unique to say the least but not something I'd drink a ton of though I enjoyed this one.

Orange peel. Coriander. Cloudy Orange pour with little head. Slight tart flavor. Orange nutmeg Coriander. Medium carbonation. A little creamy. Another good beer from hitachino nest. U officially gave a favorite Japanese brewery now.

Pours a light orange with a thin head. Orange zest but not much in the aroma. Orange and lemongrass fading into a slight bitter aftertaste with some of the alcohol hitting. Tasty Belgium beer

Had as the Commemorative Ale .. . getting alot of fruit, rice, fresh peeled fruit skin, and flowers .. . a milder beer .. . has a clean finsih with a light summer linger .. . quality summer beer .. . . i always enjoyed the wave pool but the lifeguards always gave me shit!

Draught at Beer Belly, Winter 2007. "Seven Strong Ales" event. Aroma of mlid hops, coriander, lemon, and orange peel. Ambercolor. Spicy! The hops are balanced with cloves and cinnamon. Malt and hops attack in the mid-palate and last through finish. Tasty, but maybe too much spicing.

Copper with modest head, sweet subtile almost begian fragrance with some waxy notes in finish

Aromas of vanilla, nutmeg, nuts and ginger.Fairly bright orange with a red tint and lots of sediment. Delicious flavors of oak, maple syrup, molasses, and malted barley. Finish leaves a delectable taste of candied caramel sweetness and a hint of alcohol. Overall, a fantastic brew straight out of Japan. Very full-bodied and sweet. I’d give this an A+ rating.
